    Our cruises were: Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and in September were on Celebrity. I felt like every time we moved up. So it was a good way for us to get into cruising.

    Great information. Try Ritz Carlton Yacht. It's a new cruise experience. I'm planning on taking a cruise. But I'd like to know your thoughts before I book. Also, I'm curious as to how Virgin cruises are ranked as a yes when Carnival cruises are ranked as a no. Both are hedonistic in my eyes with only one exception being no kids on Virgin. Virgin reminds me of a place called Club Med and a resort in Jamaica called Hedonism. I've been to neither, but I know what went on there from people who have visited both places.

    Well we got back from our MSC Virtuosa 7 night Northern Europe cruise from Southampton yesterday, and… we really enjoyed it! We were lucky in that we didn't have to go during school holidays – I believe the ship only had about 3500 on board. The room was also a lot bigger than we were expecting, with a great view out over the bow (11005).
    Great food choice in the buffet, where it was always easy to find somewhere to sit if you moved further away from the entrance. Dinner in the main restaurant at your allocated table (if you didn't want to buffet it) was also very good.
    Loved most of the free shows in the theatre – the ship's team of singers and dancers were excellent. Conjurors who did one night were ok; just the young singer doing the diva show was perhaps a bit too young, with not enough variety for us.
    So yes, we would recommend it based on our experience, but as inexperienced cruisers we'll probably try another line next time for comparison.

    It wasn't just passengers who got ripped off by One Ocean. My home town was planning to add a second berth on our cruise ship port and One Ocean had made some kind of deal with the city to use the berth in the off season as their home port, for maintenance and as a staging ground for arctic cruises. But half way through the planning stage, they pulled out and declared bankruptcy and now the only ships who use the second berth during the off season are the odd Coast Guard ship or oil tanker.

    My Family and I are Frequent Cruisers, 14 up to date!! Not slot compared to any of the Chanel’s out here!
    But my point, is w the Exception or J the Nomad, I must say, your Chanel is the most informative!!

    Just viewed the Holland America video. Must say I love it for all the reasons you stated. Another point is that it's probably the only line which provides religious services, e.g. a priest on every ship, which provides an essential need for me.

    Cruising is bad for your health.air condition below minus 30. Every one coughing included the crew. After cruising for 65 years I never cruise again

    We’ve just booked a Med cruise on Arcadia (5 previous cruises on her) after a 10 year break and was appalled at the bad reviews l read about terrible food, dirty cabins, closed venues etc. l went and found as many recent passenger walkthrough videos of Arcadia as l could, they were all positive (not a single video showing dirt, horrid food etc) and the proof of the pudding was actually seeing every part of her clean and tidy, the wonderful decor and the amazing food. Ignore the reviews, go and look for yourself!

    Going away to the Caribbean in a few weeks what is the best currency to take with you looking at the places we are going they are saying US Doller the Euro and the eastern Caribbean Doller this is the list of ports we are going to I was just going to take my card but People are saying not to do this Bridgetown, Barbados

    I've had about 15 cruises, and I have cruise with PRINCESS Carnival, MSC Norwegian, royal Caribbean celebrity. I can absolutely say what authority ROYAL CARRIBEAN is the best.

    Me gusta que el problema te haya sido el idioma en un crucero para que sepas lo horrible que lo pasamos cuando el crucero es solo en inglés y tu conocimiento del idioma no es perfecto. Te lo harán sentir a cada trato. Horrible.😢

    I just got off the Holland America Neiuw Amsterdam and it was a great Caribbean trip. Course it was also a speciality charter called JoCo. But the ship and crew were amazing.

    Thank you, this is helpful. I find that I too like the smaller ships better. For me, the reason I book a cruise are the destinations.
