The bed looks absolutely too narrow to be comfortable. If those seats reclined, I would take that option. But since they don’t, I think what I would do is try to get plenty of sleep the night before I boarded the train.
I took this train only I didn’t have a cabin. The ride was endless and I spent most of the time sitting in the cafe car
I’ve always liked the idea of going on a sleeper train, not managed it yet.
Nice shirt!!!
Bed is way too short! It should be 7ft
That is a better deal cost wise than the Amtrak in the US. Meals are included and there is a shower in the sleeper cars in the US. Not sure that makes up for the high cost.
Can we sleep two person in one sleeper ?
Sleeper cars are different to the Scottish Night Riviera, they have En Suit shower / toilet
I wonder how the driver shifts work. Do they get put up in a hotel for the night and then do the return leg? 🤔
Takes me 4hours by car so i never really go by the train besides its hard to get around in Cornwall without a car
It's unfortunate that Penzance is a shithole. I loved Mousehole and St Ives though
Thank you so much for sharing your video it was fascinating and a pleasure to watch. I must say it was a lovely train looked very comfortable and so clean. I love your channel and l am quite envious because if l could l would just travel around Britain on trains for the rest of my life. Hahaha. I look forward to seeing the next video soon.. 🙋🙋🙋🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Question. I assume the fare options of your choice were not first class. How did you get access to First Class lounge?
Great video. This has just come on my feed and glad it did. The only sleeper train I have ever done was from North France to the South of Fmrance and I loved it. There is something special about being on a sleeper train. Have you done a video of a sleeper train across France? I am looking forward to watching more of your videos.
We love you Paul
I used to run the buffet car on the Manchester to Penzance summer night trains..nice memories
Great just so long as the red brigade don’t go on strike!
As a late teenager, some 40 years ago…. I rode my tRusty old Honda along the platform at Paddington……. A wooden ramp got me into the guards van and the carriage, with a side corridor, had facing benches (Hogwarts Express style)…….
This was called the Milk or Mail train ?
The slowest way to the South West at night…… I camped in a carriage, blocking the door to the compartment and growling at any incursion……. disembarking at Par near St Austell (Snozzle in local speak)
A sort of “no frills” sleeper……. and I seem to recall the bike went free 🙂🇬🇧
Just found your channel, very enjoyable video plus useful information about the train service.
Overnighters across Ukraine cost about £30 first class or £60 to buy both berths in the cabin. The beds aren't wide and impossible to sleep on.
cool little rooms
Lovely video. I’d love to do that journey one day, especially in the sleeper.
DOOR
You could have pulled up the window and closed the door when you got off at Penzance….!
The top bunk looked wider. Why didn't you kip up there instead?
I had no idea that there were sleeper trains from London to Cornwall, the most beautiful place in the world! Thanks 😊
Good video!
We take the day train from Reading to St Ives every year. Have to say the night train doesn’t appeal to me – the day train is quicker and arriving bleary eyed in Penzance too early to check in to our accommodation wouldn’t seem worth it. But each to his own and it’s certainly nicely appointed
Nice! I will need ti check it out!
No doubt expensive asf
Does anyone know if the Mk3s are being replaced soon or are they staying longer
Definitely would take the night train! Great journey and video. Thanks!
Why isn't there a sleeper train form.Cornwall to.lnverness in . Scotland, ? Mk 5 coaches,bi -mode locos at each end,hey Lumo how about it!
