Japan’s most sacred place, the remote mountain town of Koyasan, the centre of the Shingon sect of Japanese Buddhism. It is here we got the opportunity to stay in a Buddhist monastery, in a traditional Japanese tatami room and try their vegetarian cuisine as well as feel their way of life. Come with us to Koyasan, Japan for this unique experience 🙂

This is awesome..
Just another cult
Great work, random question is Japan expensive? I get the impression it's an expensive country to tour around. I want to visit there
Must be a nice little earner for the monks.
Love it so far one of your very interesting videos. They seem pompous somewhat…
Will you come to America USA?
Absolutely wonderful and thank you for sharing. I really appreciate and love it.
Have a great trip and stay safe 😎👘🀄
Very good cultural video.
That was an awesome room! I wasn’t expecting it to have a tv, and your own bathroom, siting room, and the view!
Greetings from Kamakura, so happy you guys made it to Japan! Hope you have a super time here✨
Great video good to see you on a guided tour you can learn so much from these knowledgable people. Watching from afar. UK
Thanks!
I love your videos my dear. I'm a Kenyan YouTuber doing village life videos and I'm happy showcasing our beautiful African culture 🙏.
Incredible channel 😘😘😘😘
It is so good to see a part of a culture that most of us will never get to visit. Loved how Julia was impressed with the "traditional Buddhist bathroom" 😅🤣😂 This is a departure from your usual self guided touring. Why did you decide to go this route? I think I know but want to hear from you. Thank you for taking us along. 'domo arigato' from Ann Arbor, Chris
Matt, had an afterthought. Grow your goatee a little longer, twist into a braid, and grow your ponytail a bit longer. Our next star in a samurai film,⛩!
I really enjoyed this segment of your adventure in Japan, and am looking forward to your next videos.
How was the Sake?
the place is so impressive actually
Such a beautiful and serene place!!!
Really beautiful places. So nice to be able to visit them with you two. The filming is lovely.
Went there 9 years ago, and after this am aching to go back. Can't wait for the rest of your adventure.
As an aside, as an older male solo traveller, would I fit in with the kind of tour you're with?
Big big kisses from France ❤🇫🇷 your adventures are so interesting and fun ! Don't change you are both perfect ! 🇫🇷❤️🇷🇺
Amazing….love the monastery journey
Guys I am so jealous. How beautiful is Japan. Those trees are amazing and what an insight into the monastery. Thanks for taking us along. Can't wait for the next video.

How wonderful to beable to visit Japan guys!!!!! Your videography is excellent!! I’ve said this before but I’m unable to travel which is really sad, so I come along with you!! Didn’t realise that Japanese monks can marry. I learn so much watching your vlogs!! Must have been amazing to stay in Koyasan! I can’t wait for the next adventure!! 🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️
Thank you, friends, for another great video with unique content. You are both the absolute best! ❤
Very nice images!
Wow….a beautiful video Matt and Julia so different to all the hi-tech stuff we usually see about Japan, thank you, sooooooooo good !
Wishing y’all a happy Easter
Absolutely brilliant vlog! What a beautiful place steeped in the most magical tradition! I’m literally in awe of what you are seeing. Japan is my dream destination. I’ve only been to Tokyo for a little bit (Work)
Julia your hair is getting long love it.
Hi Guys! Nice to see you enjoying Japan. I booked a 10 night stay in Tokyo early Jan 2020, for the following September. We all know what happened next. Looking to possibly try again this August. I have checked the FCO travel advice, which states that there are no official restrictions re mask wearing etc, but guidance. I notice quite a few people wearing masks in the open air, bit also in restaurants and bars. Is this generally expected etiquette, by the individual establishments? Also on the flight in I noticed quite a few masks, including yourselves. Is this an enforced rule (I am not criticising, just need to know as my wife does not like flying at the best of times, and spending 13 1/2 hrs on an aircraft wearing a mask would be a bit too much for her.)
Finally, I get the impression you are part of an organised tour. I take it Japan is still not allowing independant tourists?
I eagerly await the next installment. Keep up the good work!
How did you survive in yakutia so long?
Been there done that. Very nice.
I generally don't care to watch travel couples but you are an exception. Both for the interesting places you visit and Julia's goofy thumbnail faces.
