  1. Hey I have a quick question for you! I was accepted to study abroad for a semester in São Paulo and I have never been to Brazil and do not know any Portuguese. What is your number one recommendation as an “outsider” for me to know! I want to be as safe as possible In the city! Thanks

  2. My wife lives in Floripa. I am bringing her here to USA. We will buy house there someday.

  3. Have you checked out Vitoria? It has one of the highest GDP per capita in Brazil and it's a super beautiful city. Perhaps one of the most underrated cities in Brazil in terms of beauty, living standards and beaches

  4. Hello, I’m klaiver, I’m looking to practice English and in return I’ll help you practice Portuguese. My whatsapp 11 955697810, my Instagram klayyver_

  5. coming to Braziil and living in Belo Horizonte is like going to USA and living, lets say, in maryland or oklahoma.

  6. Sou brasileiro e Tenho vontade de conhecer indiana, nos Estados Unidos 🇺🇲🇧🇷😍🤩 e muito lindo

  7. I agree that you stress safety. Although I Love and live part time in Salvador. If you’re from NYC like me it works, in terms of the multi cultural mix of the friendliest warmest people I’ve ever met. The collision of culture music dance play is incredible. I do have a driver and just last year after 20 years of never having a crime incident, watched my Uber driver get carjacked. There is crime, growing up in NYC in the 70’s was crime filled but I never had a problem and look back fondly. I do def look forward to visiting Curitiba. Ty

  8. I lived there from 1975 to 1988. After living in Switzerland for several years I visited Curitiba again and was surprised how much criminality went up. Curitiba is still safer when compared with São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. But I don’t feel very safe there anymore.

  9. I'm not sure if you're still living in Curitiba, but I was born and raised in Belo Horizonte, although the food you can find nice bars, friendly people spread through the town, as you said, BH is intense, and you might be robbed anytime.
On the other hand, in Brazil southern you can find safer places to live, people here are usually more conservative (my opinion) overall, yet you can find REALLY NICE BEACHES I'M NOT KIDDING! Besides, Curitiba, there's Joinville which is a really nice city to live in, because it's big, this town has a nice environment, it isn't as dangerous as Belo Horizonte, the closest beach is located 35minutes driving, IT'S AMAZING DUDE, nice people, nice food (not as much as Belo Horizonte though), gas is cheap, and so on…
Actually, I live in Guaratuba-PR, by car, the distance between Curitiba and Guaratuba is about 1h20min, Honestly, I wouldn't move back to Belo Horizonte not ever being paid for it hahah! I DO LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE HERE :))))

  10. Cool Video Joey.. I been studying Portuguese for some years, and now starting to take it seriously.. Hope to see you down there someday.. Best of Travels amigo

  11. OK your personal opinion. This is the reason people travel to get different experiences in life 🙌. Good for you. I like travelers and not the tourists crowd. I practice what I preach. I lived in Buenos Aires,Argentina for 10 years. Argentina is awesome and so is Brazil 🇧🇷. Rio de Janeiro was the most beautiful city that I have ever seen in my lifetime ❤. I like large urban areas for the diversity 😀. But all large cities are made up of different neighborhoods I just find one I like and feel comfortable in again each to his own.

  12. Little did you know how Curitiba was anticorruption 🙂 go back to BH and take a 45 minutes flight to Rio when in need of beach, good luck to you!

  13. I'm Brazilian and I can say that nothing in this country works! It is shameful to be born in a place where politicians rob their people with thousands of useless taxes that do not improve the country at all. Violence and banditry grow, the population has to work hard to survive in this hell and, with this pandemic, things only got worse. The humorous side of the Brazilian is a strategy to deal with this difficult reality. There is no pride in being born and living in Brazil. For those who left the country, it's easy to say that they were born in a good place, but if I were one of those, I would make a point of tearing and defecating on that green and yellow flag. Music, cultural heritage and art are used to spread disrespectful, immoral and perverse values. The image you created of us Brazilians makes sense, a primitive and extremely vulgar people. There are other better places to live. Don't come to this shitty place. Not worth it…

  14. I know the video is a few years old but I am strongly considering moving to Brazil in a couple years. I have never been but I can see that Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul seem to be the safest places to live. My dream is to live in Rio de Janeiro but I can’t live with my head on a swivel most of my life. We talking about long term here, being at home where I’m cooking, eating with family, making love to my woman and watching the games. This is vulnerability at its best! This needs to be a place where I’m relaxed and can walk around with a cell phone and my wallet without worrying if I’m coming home at night safe. Are these places as fun as Rio, São Paulo? Not even close, but I would just have to visit these places so I can go back home to peace.

  15. Curitiba better than Floripa for an expat with a remote job?
