Here is the new process for international tourist arrivals to the Dominican Republic, Rules, Restrictions and more:
#1 Complete the Dominican Immigration and Customs Form.
You will be required to Complete the Dominican Immigration and Customs Form Online at:
dominican-republic-immigration-form.pdffiller.com
#2 Complete and submit the Traveller’s Health Affidavit
Travellers will need to complete and submit a Traveler’s Health Affidavit which will be provided by the airline or by Dominican authorities upon arrival. On this form, travelers will have to declare that they have not felt any COVID-19 related symptoms in the last 72 hours and provide contact details for the next 30 days.
#3 Provide Proof of A negative Covid 19 test result.
Due to a recent surge in cases, as of July 30th, all travelers entering the Dominican Republic must show proof of a negative PCR Covid 19 test or take the rapid test in less than 10 minutes at the airport. The pretest must be done within the last five days of your intended travel date. Please note that if the test is conducted at the airport, there will be no additional cost to the traveller. Also, you should know that passengers younger than five years of age and crew members are exempt from the Covid 19 pretest.
#4 Expect to have your Temperature Checked
Airports will perform temperature checks and other controls to monitor all passenger arrivals. Therefore expect to have your temperature checked as soon as you disembark the aircraft.
#5 Prepare for Health Evaluation:
Expect a health evaluation to be conducted upon arrival. Travellers who show symptoms of Covid 19 or get a positive Covid 19 test results when tested, will place into isolation at a government authorized location.
#6 Follow the established Covid 19 guidelines
. Dominican airport terminals have established guidelines requiring social distancing as well as the mandatory use of face masks for both employees and travelers. Expect that beaches and parks will be open, however indoor gyms will be closed. Hotel restaurants will be open, however, other restaurants will operate based on established curfew orders. Tours will also be open to tourists.
Also, travellers need to be aware of a new curfew that has gone into effect in Santo Domingo and in areas where COVID-19 cases have spiked.
The curfew is in effect Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
And On the weekends the curfew will run from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The curfew in the Dominican Republic is strictly enforced. U.S. citizens and other travelers who must travel during curfew hours for international travel may be asked to show their passport, ticket, and travel itinerary to authorities to be allowed to continue to the airport.
Also, all large public gatherings and events have been suspended.
Please consider that the Dominican Republic is also enhancing its safety protocols across the island. As a result expect that there will be a strict enforcement of physical distancing, wearing face masks as well as temperature checks upon arrival at hotels and resorts.
Also, if you are planning to travel to the Dominican Republic from the U.S., please consider that as of August 6, 2020, The Department of State has issued a Global Level 4 Health Advisory advising U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19,.
