For use in walking blogging what’s the best lens? The kit lens is variable aperture so tough to match it with other segments in post But the kit lense is small making walk and talknstull easy versus putting a GM aster in this camera
Would it be a good “dadcam”? Family, travel etc?
Appreciate your perspective. Your points on pricing/target audience haven't been talked about enough about this camera. Love the closing too; Z1-E1 isn't going to be for everyone.

Damn, I was just about to pull the trigger on an FX3 but this is making me second guess – I am hoping something will come out soon that includes the Variable ND in an FX3 style body
ZV-E1 with 24MP and an evf is the perfect camera.
The ability to import LUTS is a nice addition too… I do feel that this camera attempts to do most things in-camera vs post. This is very handy for run & gun to get content out quickly. For me, I think the ZV-E1 is a great combo to my a7rv.

Have you seen the explosion of travel vloggers who are making a living from youtube all buying A7Cs? That's the target market for this.
Understand this is targeted for videos. Usually 50/50 on stills and videos. How's your experience with the photography aspect of this camera. Would love to give this a shot and stray away from the usual alpha series.

I love that they've added all the pleb settings tbh. I could do everything in post, but since it's a part of my day job, I really don't want to. When shooting for fun I'm a bit of a P mode peasant. So all the amateur features with the option for pro, is right up my cup of tea.

I figured what can edge out as the next best vlog camera for independent creators is the addition of voice command… over wireless mic even. “Hey Sony…”, and there it is… an assistant director.
Only video that's fully convinced me to get a ZV e1

Great overview! I have using the A7C for the last 2 years, mostly because it's the lightest full frame camera available and perfect for my hikes where I need to travel light and fast. Question: Do you think I would be giving anything up significant in terms of photo quality going from 24 MP to 12 MP? The 10 bit 422 Slog3 and ability to load user LUTs is what really attracts me to the ZV-E1. The video performance on the A7C was always somewhat lacking for me and I never liked the colors much in slog, and the A7IV and A7siii are just too big/heavy for my needs, so the ZV-E1 is super attractive.
it doesnt cost "twice as much as zv-e10", it costs more than 3 times than zv e10. e10 was launched at $698 body, and e1 is $2199. it's an important distinction to make. if it costed twice, it would have been fine. it's not "twice", its "3+ times".
and if u consider a used e10, then e1 is around 5 times more expensive. and then the lenses..

Thanks for the great review ! I'm really on the fence now. Do you think the sensor is a problem for classic home sized prints ? And about the banding, was it something that happened often and in what kind of situations ? I shoot mostly street photography in low light so I'm quite concerned about the electronic shutter. Keep up the great work mate, I've been loving your instagram content for years now !

I would still buy the zve10, because the difference of price does not, at least to me for vlogging purposes for example, explain the 2000 dollar jump. With good lenses the zve10 is amazing for 600 dollars! And if I would jump 2000, I would directly buy fx30 I think
Awesome video only thing missing is time marking for those who like getting straight to the points.
Thank you for testing the camera out. I think I will reserve judgment on the overheating situation when the production camera is released with the production software.
