One of the earliest cherry blossoms in Japan, occurring as early as late-Feb/early-Mar. If you are in Japan before the traditoinal late-Mar/early-Apr sakura season, catch the action in Kawazu, a couple of hours from Tokyo Station via train. Scenery is impressive.
