Thailand Travel (2023 Guide): Loy Krathong Festival 2022 | Yi Peng Lantern Festival 2022 | Yee Peng Festival 2022: Chiang Mai Sky Lantern Festival is an important part of the Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand.

Chiang Mai Sky Lantern Festival Dates:
Varies every year, but always in early November. 2022 is November 8th and 9th.
It was said that there would be more people on November 8 than on November 9 in 2022, and correspondingly, there would be more sky lanterns and it would be more beautiful.

Standard ticket: 3,999 Thai baht/per person
VIP ticket: 5,999 Thai baht/per person
Price includes: Authentic Lanna Thai snacks, desserts, foods & beverages, souvenirs, 1 krathongs & 2 sky lanterns

The difference between the Standard ticket and the VIP ticket:
1. VIP seats are closer to the main stage
2. The style of the krathongs of VIP is a little more beautiful
3. Buffets, sky lanterns, etc., are the same
Regardless of the type of ticket, the earlier you book, the closer you will be to the main stage within your ticket zone

***🚕How to get to this place***
Location: Northern study center, Maerim, Chiang Mai, Thailand
15 kilometers from the ancient city of Chiang Mai, about 25 minutes by car.
I booked tickets through a travel agency, they also provide a 10-seater van, and the round-trip price is 300 baht per person.

At 3:30 p.m., we gather at the Mercure Chiang Mai Hotel in the north of the ancient city and get on the van. I guess each travel agency has different meeting places and arrangements.
At about 16:00 pm, we arrived at the venue.

We left the venue at about 20:35 in the evening, took the 10-seater van of the travel agency, arrived at the Mercure Chiang Mai Hotel on the north side of the ancient city at about 21:00, and then took a taxi home through the Grab App.

✈️ 🏠 During the days of the Sky Lanterns Festival, tourists from all over the world and people from other cities in Thailand come here to Chiang Mai, and the hotels will be full, so it is best to book hotels in advance, and buy air or train tickets in advance.

🏞️ Because the activity is outdoors, if you are prone to attract mosquitoes, simply bring some mosquito repellent products.

🌙 If you are afraid of cold at night, bring a light jacket. I think the temperature is ok, but maybe the temperature is different every year.

*** 🍀 Other information***
In several other places in Chiang Mai this evening there are also activities to launch sky lanterns. Some are paid, and some are free. But it is said that the scale of this venue is the largest.
