  1. Interesting note: Shibuya Sky, when I visited last year around Halloween 2022, NO masks and hats strict rule was enforced? I guess masks and hats were flying off? But, I noticed you had a mask, as well as someone in the background? 🍣🍣🍣

  2. I've just booked my first post covid Japan trip for January (We want to experience Takaragawa Onsen in the snow☃) . Some very useful information. Good work!

  3. I just came back from Japan from 3/25-4/1 and it was really busy compared to when Japan first opened the borders in October of 2022. It took around 40 minutes to get through customs and immigration compared to ~10 minutes in october. There was a lot of foreign tour groups with the majority of them being Chinese and European.

  4. 3:41 Critical update: no more Covid entry rules from Mon 8 May 2023
Lonely Planet Tokyo guidebook 2015 edition made a point that the Japanese were characteristically handwringing themselves in the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as the Japanese are not ‘international’ enough. This is certainly the case with the Japanese slow, tedious and backward response to Covid.

Come Monday 8 May, foreign tourists can finally enter and experience Japan as they could in 2019. Without the risk of cancelling an expensive Japanese holiday due to a positive Covid test, or being rebuked by a local Japanese for not wearing a stupid and pointless mask.

    Finally.

  5. Literally just got to my hotel now and my goodness I got lost 😬😬😬 had to find the bus route to my hotel. An adventure nonetheless!

  6. Great video thank you, I didn’t know about some of the new attractions added them to the list 🥰

  7. The advanced registration for the tax-free QR code is a game changer. There were a few times I missed out on purchases because I forgot my passport.Don't need to worry about that anymore.

Ironically, retailers are essentially doing the same thing by inputtung your passport information into a computer that generates a q r code to scan before they start ringing you up. This will definitely save time for the worker and speed up the checkout process.

  8. Just received my JR pass (voucher) via mail on Monday… Wonder if I'll be able to reserve seats online in that case. 😅

  9. Thanks Ninja Monkey!
Excited for my trip in June, especially the vaccine lift.
    You are a blessing
