I came to the birth place of Mr.Saigo Takamori.
This is just the place where the hero was born and he changed the history of Kagoshima Prefecture and whole Japan!
西郷隆盛の誕生地にやってきましたぁ！
ここで鹿児島と日本の歴史を変えた英雄が生まれました。
Saigo Takamori was not born in a high-class aristocracy but in a low-class Samurai family. The feudal lord Shimazu Nariakira of that time discovered Saigo’s extraordinary talent and employed him as his key servant. This was the beginning of Saigo’s political life.
西郷隆盛は生まれつき偉かったわけではありません。
下級武士の生まれでしたが、当時の薩摩の大名だった島津斉彬にその才能を見出されて政治家として歩んでいくのです。
Nariakira Shimazu is famous as an inventer of Japanese national flag Hinomaru.
島津斉彬は日の丸の発明者としても有名ですよ！
His birthplace is only a stone throw from Kagoshima Chuo Station. It takes only 15 minutes by foot. The Kotsuki River flows near the birthplace.
西郷隆盛の誕生地は、鹿児島中央駅から歩いて15分くらいの甲突川沿いにあります。
