Don’t waste your money buying these travel accessories. While these things seem like they will make your travel easier, better, faster, cooler: they won’t. They’ll just be another useless item that you wished you didn’t buy in the first place. Learn from my mistakes and save your money for something better!

Number 12 on the list of unnecessary items for your travel: travel insurance! 😅
What a joke! 🤡
No lock the airline people will destroy your suitcase to get it open they will rip the zipper if they cannot get it open cost me $360 too replace my suitcase enroute
Bring home the hotel soaps, etc and give them to the homeless shelters
They just stick the zipper and open even with locks
There are packable sun hats available. I’m in love with my wide brimmed Tilley hat that goes with me everywhere there is a lot of sun. It’s a bit pricy but there are plenty of packable, washable alternatives. These days a big hat and sunscreen are a must for sunny locations
Never had problems with locks in all my travels for 3o years
When I got my new passport from the local embassy, it came with a clear plastic cover. I asked the lady at the desk did she have a spare. She did – perfect.
I have an inflatable camping pillow I just wait until the plane is at cruising altitude before inflating it.
Tamafuji is a lot better than Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin.
Highly recommend trying some of the new bar shampoos and conditioners. They are really nice products, last for months, no plastic waste and the best part is TSA friendly.
Recently my niece bot me these packing cubes that r compression cubes—great to give u more space in ur suitcase..I’m always into bringing toiletries in smaller plastic containers n make use of those special sml size moisturizers that u get free when buying certain cosmetics at Macy’s (for example)..also always order travel size contact solutions for the handcarry..n always carry extra pair of contacts too. Ty for ur great video!
I always kept hotels' soap and shampoo bottles that aren't permanently sealed so I can dump the insides (if I don't like the products) and refill it with my own soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.. If you're on a long travel, you can fill several bottles and throw them out when they're empty, no fuss no muss. It's easier and add just a bit more space if you're not good at re-packing stuff or bought too many souvenirs.
A 90% or so empty shampoo bottle is not going to work. TSA regulations limit the size of the container, not the quantity contained.
I swear by my TRTL travel pillow. I've tried the traditional U-shaped travel pillows of various sizes and materials and disliked them all because they were uncomfortable.
I use zip ties to discourage casual theft.
I recently bought the exact travel towels shown for about $10 and love them. They are light and roll up small and dry really quickly. I use them at home to cut down on laundry by a lot. Will travel with them soon.
I take vacuum bag and put my dirty laundry in. Keeps it away from the clean clothes & takes up less space.
pretty lousy advices
What’s with that “ssshhhhh ha” start at 0:00 😂
Chris, the things I travel with are the things that work for me. I'm retired now but my position while working for the DoD caused me to travel more than I really wanted to. I traveled with a small team and all of us had various types of gear that worked for us and most of it was peculiar to the individual. For example I would never use a hard sided suitcase that I had to check. While traveling to Korea my hard sided suitcase came around the luggage carousel with one of the sides crushed. I don't mean dented I mean crushed, so that cured me of using a hard sided suitcase unless I used it as a carry on, then it worked very well. I really enjoy your show even if my travel experiences were different from yours. Another example is luggage locks, I used them for keeping my Samsonite luggage from opening and spilling my unmentionables on the ground while on my way to my destination. Also I have never had a lock pop open in 35 years of traveling for the Govt.
Michael
These towels are for RVs camper, vans and campers and they’re wonderful
Wool is cruel
This could have been a two minute video.
I have to agree with the shoes tip! Last month, I bought a cute pair of trainers for a trip to London. I put them on, walked a few miles and was in terrible pain. Thankfully, there was a Skechers store nearby and they saved my feet! Also the car insurance tip….a few years ago, we had a giant rock fly into the windscreen of our rental car. We were on our way to the airport to fly home. We made a claim with AmEx and they took care of the entire thing.
53 mins for 17 objects? Nay… I DO agree although for 14 out of 17 of them. Yeah, not only these 3 were VERY useful BUT I used them not only once but several times over the years. The first is the passport holder, as you told, mine also can be used as card holder and I've even been able to put some money and my plane ticket. So, yes, I'm still using it. Having it done DIY, it was sometimes fun to see, as a lawyer and a French professor of laws at the French university, a police officer laughing at my "Diplomatic World Lawyer" as its cover. The second item, without having done camping, was enjoying the nature in Greece. And believe me, in summer with SO much sun and far from any plug, but stil having the GPS, charging my mobile phone more than once was very, very useful. And the last one, is the city pass. It really depends and my foreign friends enjoyed the one sold for Paris. Not only they planned to visit everything in that pass but also they saved money and time. So, nay… I'll pass on that.

I tape my bottles on top then i screw back the cap.
Liked… 😊
what is the deal with the pandas? It grosses me out since it is related to child trafficking and Child S@xual abuse.
I love all of your ideas because you cover so many areas. I haven't thought about carrying an larm with me. That is a must!!!! The shawl, the fans, adapter and the birdie are items to get!
For documents I just use a sheet protector with printouts slid inside. Adds no extra bulk
Thank you for the suggestion to place a passport copy in suitcases. Never thought of it, but such a practical and smart idea that can come in handy just in case.
I print out my documents too! My kids think I'm nuts, so thank you for confirming that it's a good idea to have hard copies of your important traveling paperwork. Excellent travel tips. So much is marketed as "must have" travel gadgets that are simply unnecessary.
I am a missionary in Mexico. When I collect the small shampoos & soaps from my travels, I give them to the poor near me in Mexico!
I have recently discovered bamboo knee high socks from Amazon and I love them! They feel very good on and work for hot or cod weather! The socks stay up and never sag!
