Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼

We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it…we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼

Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻

Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life…all you need to do is make the choice!

  1. I make a point of carrying, on my person, sufficient stuff so that I won't be motivated to go for my carry-on in the event of an emergency. So, phone, phone holster, passport, keys, cards, cash. A Kindle, merino sweater and two changes of destination clothing will always be in the carry-on.
    Interesting video.

  2. Just a quick comment on peanut allergies: the oil from the peanuts can also transfer to other surfaces which can then be touched by someone with an allergy and cause a reaction

  3. Please don’t remove your shoes during flight. if you go to the restroom, the floors will most likely be wet and it’s probably not water. Smelly feet, like smelly foods or dirty diapers tend to waft throughout the cabin. Don’t be that person.

  4. The peanut thing , just bring them. The odds to finding hypersensitive allergic person that will die from the smell are slim to non existent. Is they have this issue they will have all the precautions with them

  5. I've heard several ULCC count a fanny a pack as personal item. So could be expensive if they nit pick

  6. Airborne nut allergies are a myth. A potentially dangerous one that misinformed people like to spread.

  7. After seeing someone on a long haul flight who was sick and didn’t have anything he could take for it, I basically bring a small pharmacy with me – bandaids, cough drops, ibuprofen, anti nausea pills. My nose gets really dry, so I bring a nasal saline spray too. My pharmacy is overkill sometimes, but it has come in handy more than once.

  8. Imodium or similar; if you have strange meal the night before a 10 hour flight or an airport layover, you want to be sure you can keep digestion under control. Trust. No need to experience this for yourself.

  9. my nephew will blow up like a puffer fish if he walks into a room where someone recently had peanuts. It's insane! When the swelling goes down, he's got two black eyes for weeks. Please don't have any peanut products in confined spaces.

  10. Fanny pack… Nice…but you forget a much more important first thing before iPhone (and after passport) and that is cash money…. Yes plastic card money gets you far, but A LOT OF PLACES have need of cash money…either you bring USD or you leave the country with peanut pesos and rupiahs… also in the open in front of your body ready to be reached by pickpocketers fanny bag ???? Or rather in the hidden money belt ?!

  11. Another tip from a traveller to “dangerous” places: bring a weapon in the air, that isn’t…what a riddle; answer is a steel nut in one pocket and a rope of 40 cm in another… combine the two and you cld smack a baddie on the skull….after exiting the destination airport in a dodgy taxi… especially for girls..

  12. Something on want list is an infra red glass that can be attached to yr phone to scoop through the hotel bathroom to find HIDDEN MINI SPY CAMERAS that may film lady bathrooms… cameras cheaply made in china and of course popular in use in East Asian countries….

  13. Great video. Does anyone reading this know if the Verizon international plan is good for France and,Germany for internet and phone?

  14. Lost count of how many long haul flights I have done, never packed anything for them. People know if they get travel sick, and let's face it, it's not that long is it?

  15. You forgot the Ativan! Not to mention the upgraded ticket to Premium or Bizclass. Though the Ativan itself is like an upgrade to First.

  16. sudden severe turbulence landed an entire pot of scalding-hot coffee in my lap a week ago – as a nurse, I always carry-on a change of scrubs and boxers – no serious burns or bruises with anybody, thankfully

  17. Great tips. However, about the peanut allergies..it’s the responsibility of the people with those allergies to take their own precautions & have their own epipens etc. It’s ridiculous to be made to feel responsible for others medical conditions.

  18. Pack a pair of slides in your personal bag so you can be comfortable in socks but still be able to quickly put shoes on for bathroom breaks

  19. I have a cousin who is severely allergic to peanuts and fish. Even the smell of those items can send him into anaphylaxis. If you have never seen someone having an allergic reaction where their throat is closing up, you won't understand how scary that is. For that reason, I don't eat things with nuts in public spaces. You never know who could be allergic.

  20. Can you Share the world map in the back with us? I am looking for one to Marke in what country I have been.

  21. Yes, please skip the peanuts on the plane. I have observed the smell of peanuts triggering an asthma attack on a plane!
