Matsuda Sakura Matsuri

Have you heard of Kawazu Zakura? 🌸

This variety of cherry tree is particular in that it blooms as early as February for about a month!
You’ll find these cherry trees all over Japan, but certain festivals are specifically held to admire them! ✨

This is one of them, the Matsuda Sakura Matsuri (まつだ桜まつり) 🌸
This festival offers a magnificent spectacle, what with its hundreds of Kawazu Zakura and Mount Fuji as a backdrop 🗻

To get there from Tokyo, take the Odakyu Line from Shinjuku Station to Odawara Station. This journey will cost you 790 yens, and will take about 1h20 🚄

This year, the matsuri took place from February 11 to March 12, save the date for next year! 😄
