The Nakameguro cherry blossom festival is back! After a three-year hiatus, Shizuka and the byFood team head to the Nakameguro to celebrate the return of this beloved Tokyo festival. The beautiful sakura trees leaning over the river make this spot one of the best places in the city to enjoy hanami, or flower viewing.

Of course, no byFood trip is complete without enjoying the local snacks, and Shizuka tries a variety of festival street food. Snacks like the classic hanami dango, wagyu on a stick, and a sparkly glass of strawberry champagne make the magical walk under the cherry blooms even better!

    I used to have a plum tree in the backyard that would bloom like that.
    Then you would wake up one day & it would look like snowfall.
    Hopefully it does that in Japan too!

    Instead of Eli I thought the producer for Japan by Food would be a big fat guy who eats all the food Shizuka buys but doesn't have time to eat before she moves on to the next food tour item. If there ever is a job opening like that you can count on me to send in a resume which will be written on various menus from local Japanese restaurants. Those were some beautiful strawberries!
