  9. Funny to watch you touring "my" town on and off for 11 years. Enjoyed your video, all your videos, in fact. Still trying to catch up ๐Ÿค“
    A couple of things:
Real estate in this area is as muddy as it can get (and as muddy as all of Kenya)
A lot of traditional land is simply grabbed and sold by employees of the Lands Office and all kinds of often dubious middlemen.
One minute you have a title deed, the next you can spend your time in court for ages. So look out!
Real estate is expensive here and people happily sell the neighbors plot.
The market was relocated some years back. From "centre" of Mtwapa (wherever that is) to the outskirts of town. And people have not yet gotten accustomed to that. A lot less customers, sadly.
Mtwapa main street (Malindi-Mombasa road) used to be packed with bars. Very, very noisy bars.
That has, fortunately, changed since Covid. The crazy sound levels and pumping bass have gone down to an almost human level. Many bars don't keep neighbors awake 24 hours anymore. It is possible to sleep at night now.
Moorings, the restaurant, is still a great place to go. Excellent food worthwhile the higher price range ๐Ÿ™‚
