This double-feature episode of Cockpit Casual begins in Denver Colorado, where Bob & Steve attended the B-777 to B-787 differences course to obtain their PIC Type Ratings in the B-787 Dreamliner. Just like in real life, immediately after the course, Steve heads down to Santiago Chile where he meets up with Nomadic’s Wes Gardner and the two embark on an adventure ferrying a B-767 from Santiago to Singapore via Auckland.
The Santiago-Auckland leg was unique in that the great-circle routing passed so far south that Antarctic sea ice was visible from the cockpit. This episode is packed with action and beautiful vistas as the Nomadic team circles the earth yet again. Of course the episode also features original Jazz from Steve’s fathers organ quartet aptly named “The Wings of Jazz”.

Midway through my commercial certificate and this channel helped inspire me to do it. It’s a great study break from preparing for the checkride. Thanks for all the content and keep it up!
Outstanding content Steve! Thanks for giving us an awesome look inside the cockpit. And a belated thanks for the extra stickers sent at Christmas!
I just love your format and content. Any video you put out is a must see for me.
they're back!
Absolutely LOVE your content Steve. Fascinating to watch and so very well produced. And you even landed in my hometown of Auckland (I now live in Ireland) so a bonus to see it featured. Glad you like it so much there. Can't wait for the next one!
The best just got better, thank you Steve for sharing with us all the views from your office window.
I'm a student from New Zealand working towards my CPL in NZPM. I've been a big fan of all your content and I'm stoked to see you visiting our country! Really enjoyed this episode, hope you get to stay here longer next time.
Terrible weather in Auckland this summer.
How you don't get sick in it.
Did you guys move the last Virgin 777 out of Brisbane?
Great video!
Thank you for making awesome videos. Really makes me wish I would have become a pilot.
Haha. WTF BOB😂😂😂 Loco Taco Laredo Tacoooo. ONLY 10 minutes late. Y’all need more/better/delicious coffee. PS — I need to grab some merch🎉
another great episode!
Best Content for Aviation on Youtube, always enjoy what you put out and estatic we have something new to view, Love the updates on Tiktok and Twitter, keep posting !
I never realized the oceans were frozen so far away from the Antarctic land mass. Imagine having to put down on that pack ice and realize that you could literally walk hundreds if not thousands of miles across it and never see a living thing??
Fantastic video. How were the winds on that route and were you ever in need of dealing with fuel freezing? Cheers from CYYB.
YESSSSSS a new one! Salty at youtube that I didn't get notified for this one for whatever reason, but knowing it's here makes it all better. I love these! Thanks for the awesome content.
The London comparison broke my brain! Incredible stuff. Keep it up.
Another great video Steve, with vibes to match🥰
10:05 I read CC-BOB😅 Love the hair colour now described as GRAY officially on your Licence.
So many little details to enjoy in your superb videos.
Enjoyed your flight !
This is a great channel, appreciate the work it takes to put these together! And typically, music on an aviation vid is usually a no-no, in this case it absolutely works. Cool stuff.
Steve I see you engaged VNAV after getting airborne. My operator (big 757/767 operator) arms it at the gate and then the airplane engages VNAV automatically at 400' AGL. What is the advantage to manually engaging it airborne? Thank you for the nice work on the video!
Love your videos, Steve! You’re sharing a very interesting hidden side of aviation! Also, your Instagram stories are very interesting too. How you don’t have more views is insane to me, great quality and music 💪
11 type ratings!!! Crazy!
Giving part one a quick re watch before tomorrows release! Nothing like a good Speedtapefilm and a glass of whisky, cheers!
Hey from OVB . Fantastic channel.
where can I get the holder id strip like u have?
I love these videos. Thanks for sharing these adventures with us who are stuck on the ground!
Loved the London comparative overlay
More stellar content. The wait was long but well worth it. Looking forward to the next!
Just over halfway in, AWESOME! Already looking forward to part 2. FYI, somehow ran across your channel several weeks ago. Instant like, thumbs up and subscribe… yeah buddy. Oh yeah, here's to a way premature happy birthday wish come August. Someone was paying attention.
Can’t find “The wings of Jazz quartet” on YouTube music or Spotify, please tell the old man to set it up.
Also I don’t know why but Bob gives out a cowboy vibe for some reason. Have him wear a cowboy hat once, I’m sure it’ll suit him just right. Greetings from the Middle East🙂
Thanks for taking us along and showing a part of the world most of us will never see, saying that Qantas run sight seeing flights to Antartica now and then. Nicely filmed and edited with some great music.
Applauding my luck. That is, realizing this is online now, when I can binge both episodes.
