In Oct 2013, I left my job and set off to Japan on a one-way ticket, successfully hitched hike halfway across the country by myself.
I traveled 2 routes: Around Kyushu, and from Fukuoka to Yokohama
I’ve met so many helpful people along the way, it’s mind-blowing how there are still good in this society today. This video is a summary of my journey and dedicated to everyone who made this happen.
Is hitch hiking possible in Japan? Oh yea, especially when I did it alone as a female, anybody can do it. It’s safe and people are friendly. However, never get too complacent and remember that there are still potential risks in this type of travel.
