This is a short video of my travel to Kyoto, Japan that I revisited. My previous trip there was in 2017 and during this recent trip, I covered other attractions and didn’t repeat those I visited then. (you can check out my earlier videos of my 2017 visit in my Japan playlist)
I traveled there from Nagoya and it took about 30 mins of Shinkansen train ride to reach there. I also briefly talked about riding on the Shinkansen trains.
Kyoto (京都), was formerly the capital of Japan. It is a city on the island of Honshu and is well-known for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses. It’s also known for formal traditions such as kaiseki dining, consisting of multiple courses of precise dishes, and geisha, female entertainers often found in the Gion district.
This clip presented my movements in Kyoto where I visited some of the key attractions of the city. Some of these included the Daikandan (Great Stairways at JR Kyoto station), Kyoto Station observation deck,
Kyoto Station Ramen Street, Kyoto Tower, Kyoto Railway Museum, Kyoto Shinkyogoku shopping street and Nishiki Market etc.
It was the 2nd week of December 2022 then, weather was cold (though it wasn’t snowing yet). I love the coldness, very cooling and refreshing and in Singapore, is what we called “Shiok” (meaning “feeling great”)!
