From there we guide you right along the very North Coast of Scotland through waterfalls and beaches stopping off at beautiful coastal towns like Ullapool, Castle ruin’s such as Ardvreck castle and much more.

  2. Cant believe you didn't say anything about the best part of the NC500 the Torridon, Shieldaig(my home) and Applecross area you get the best Shellfish in Shieldaig bar and costal kitchen and the road from shieldaig to AppleX is the steepest road in the UK the Bealach Na Ba (the pass of the cattle)

  3. We're hoping to do the NC500 this coming May but are thinking of bringing along my 90-year old mother 😁. Other than the waterfalls are most of the attractions close to the road?
By the way, thanks for the video. Some great information.

  4. Thank you so much for this fab video, I loved all the places you visited and can’t wait for our 2 week trip in July/august.😀

  5. You certainly had a flying visit
And you did touch on some decent places
But you missed so very much
I’m sure you will make up for that on your next trip

And oh I just loved your pronouncing of place names
So glad you enjoyed what we have in Scotland

  6. This video is great! We're going end of June for 10 days and hoping to roughly follow this guide with the campsites etc. Only thing you didn't really mention was facilities, how did you find it or did you have toilet/shower in the camper?

  7. You should go to the outer Hebrides the next time. Ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway. The beaches will take your breath away 😍

  8. As everyone else says, very informative, great to watch. And thank you for putting prices in. We will be going may 2023 on motorcycles. All of your poi notes. Thank you.

  9. Getting so excited. We’ll be there in October travelling from Australia 🇦🇺 This vid is perfect to plan our timing – seeing the sights and places to stay. Great job guys. 👏

  10. The Campsite is wonderful It has wonderful scenery 😂 That seems like a long drive but it was worth it I guess .

  11. Boring not very original been done 100 of times do yoz
U promote freeloading in laybys and doing the toilet anyehere you like like most tourists

  12. Great clip….but get them sunglasses off….you look like a fly…😎😎😳

  13. Excellent vlog guys, well explained and some great tips. I was up in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 last week and was lucky to see parts of this amazing country and do part of the NC500. I loved it so much I will return in the next few weeks to complete the journey.

  14. Thanks for the inspiring video! You've given us lots of great ideas. We're planning a NC500 motorhome trip for September and October. It seems you had your whole trip planned well in advance. We enjoy the freedom of being able to change itineraries based on weather and serendipity of learning about new possibilities, but you need to balance that with having access to facilities to top off/empty tanks. What's your advice about booking campsites in advance at that time of year?

  15. I’ve done this a few times but I would recommend avoiding East Coast not really much going on. All the dramatic scenery and action is on the West Coast in my opinion at least 🙂

  16. I can imagine in 10 years time hoards of tourists from all over the world complaining that the shops have run out of low carbon footprint beer and honking horns sitting in 10 mile tailbacks of battery powered camper vans because someone has flattened their battery after pumping out a continuous drum and bass rhythm at full output from the 10kW audio amp they just installed after watching a YouTube channel. You won’t be able to get a phone call or stream some red hot Dutch porn channel because 50,000 other tourists will be troughing all of the available cellular data channels watching the latest how to make money for doing f**k all squared for a living selling s**te on eBay.
At the nearest campsite some group of dickheads from Liverpool and a rival dickhead group from Manchester had a piss up the night before and a fight had broken out and 30 dickheads smashed up all of the neighbouring caravans and motor homes whilst the scousers helped themselves to anything lying around. The resultant chaos left camp sites filled with abandoned camper vans … the renters thinking ah f**k it so what if I lose my £1000 deposits I’ve had a good laugh with me mates and I’ll probably try and scab a ride home … as long as they don’t get knocked over along the roads half pissed trying to thumb lifts appealing to passing motorists and yet more half flattened motor homes and teslas … whilst walking in amongst angry groups of bikers of 100 or more at a time try to acce, rate around the half dressed scousers and Mancs with Man U and Everton FC tops that cost more than their weekly disability allowance will stretch, supplemented of course by knock off gear sold on FB a marketplace.
The lay-bys all full with people trying to do the off grid thing not understanding why they can’t get enough juice from their solar chargers to feed the 200 foot flat screen TV to keep the kids quiet whist the singlesex woke parents demand that they have the right to leave their disposable BBQs next to the overflowing bins filled with rotting nappies, beer cans (sustainable low footprint brand mind) discarded electrical, goods that they owner wishes they hadn’t bought … and some lesbo couple from Utah in the states have reduced the size of the road due to them building a shelter painted like a rainbow because the land belonged to,some alleged 9th generation relative (discovered after they did a DNA a test) red haired man hater of the day lived there and they are claiming their woke rights to occupy the land… to secure a deal with some fat purellant Orange twat ex president wants to build phase 2 of his golf course nearby.

Blimey welcome to an over crowded future fuelled by a dwindling world supply of scarce neodymium and lithium iron and silicon as Lance chance opportunities are taken to have a holiday before the next 10 year world threatening politician engineered crisis is unfolded …

Guess I am cynical? Well remember this 10 years from now…

  17. If you think my cynical comment was just that (further down) the read some of the comments from further down and see if you agree … like the one guy who had 17 cars in his road trip and the ensuing chaos at the fuel stations… god I have given up ever revisiting this beautiful area ever again because thanks to YouTube and this dickhead NC500 mentaility and everyone living for free the world is slowly becoming totally screwed as the young people blame the older generations for the fucked up climate … of course the young people trying to kick the arse out of everything en-mass whilst in their gap years travelling the world (with their dreadlocked hair … rainbow coloured is essential) has nothing to do with it all … as they live off the land practicing their bush craft skills… and wondering where they are gojng tomfind the last few remaining trees so they can snap off living branches to make green sapped firewood that they can’t light … I’m glad I am not young
But I fear for my grand children and the future generations of this planet

  18. How the hell do people like you afford to spend so much time travelling all over the world … maims money from your you tube videos,,??

  19. Many thanks!!!! Me and my wife are going next week on the anticlockwise route like yourselves..this is great info ,,👍👍👍👍👍

  20. Hi both, my name is Shaun and I am going to tour Scotland for the whole month of May next year with my trusty Labrador Ruby. Really enjoyed your insight into the NC500 and will definitely go looking for the waterfalls. I have a Volkswagon T5.1 that has been converted and I was intending to wild camp most of the time as Ruby is pretty anti social with other dogs. Loves humans hates canines. Is wild camping possible? Will have a solar shower so hopefully we wont smell too bad. Was there anything you didn't take that you wish you had? plus what 1 thing to take is essential. I'm hoping to walk parts of the West Highland Way also on this trip. The motivation for the trip is I love Scotland plus I had a major stroke in my cerebellum in June and I need to plan a trip. I am making a good recovery, but if I'm honest I'm still coming to terms with what happened as I have always been fit and active and the stroke came from out of the blue. So time for me to take the bull by the horns and go exploring the North Coast of Scotland. I was planning to go to the Isles of Harris and Lewis and get the ferry to Ullapool, so I will most probably go the opposite way around as I also want to walk Ben Macdui in the Cairngorms. if you have any tips or advice I would love to hear from you. Best wishes, Shaun.

  21. This is so helpful! I’m thinking of driving a campervan for the 1st time, just me and my daughter, do you think this is safe? Many thanks in advance 💜

  22. Great video and so informative, thank you :for the tips -)
How do you design the route on the map ? (Showing here in red)

  23. Oh dear Like many, you missed the East Coast, there is so much History and Culture, not forgetting amazing Castles, Beaches, Brochs Museums, Fishing Harbours and quaint little villages all with a story to tell……great little video but the Highland is more than 'Just' scenery

  24. We spent 3 weeks doing this route, didn't you find it rushed doing it over 7 days. There are some destinations that need a longer look.

  25. Sick and tired of reading about the NC500. We did "it" about 10 years ago before all the publicity and enjoyed a peaceful and quiet trip in the middle of summer. All this "promotion" just ruins it. Can people not make up their own itineraries or do they need to be "told" where to go. We know lots of places in Scotland and the rest of the UK that are still unspoiled but will keep them to ourselves. Why we need all this hype is beyond me and don't get me started on all the other copycat tours now appearing.

  27. Good info on the area, so many people underestimate the time it takes on the west coast…whatever your " normal" daily mileage is, take a third off it…i done it on a scooter in 2019, wild camping, learned alot. Great Vid and hope u will be back!! 👍👍👍🤣
