4 days travel to Kyoto from Tokyo Narita Airport and back.

In February 2018, my sisters and I traveled to Japan and met at the Narita Airport. My sister Marissa was on her way back to the US and took 3 days layover in Japan. It was Marissa’s first time in Japan so Teresa who lives in the Philippines and I (Canada) decided to give her a tour in Kyoto since it it the best place to showcase the history and ancient culture of Japan. We bought our JR Pass online and started using it when we arrived at Narita Airport using NEXT to Shinagawa Station.

Tokyo Station is very big and confusing so we stopped at the next station, Shinagawa and took the Hikari train from there, which is covered by JR Pass. We explored Kyoto by bus, subway and trains for two full days. We covered a lot though I couldn’t covered them all on this film.

We checked Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Fushimi-Inari Shrine, Arashima District, Tenryu-ji Temple, To-ji Temple, and Nishiki Market. We also tried the public bath, one night in a capsule hotel and local food like Okonomiyake, their pancake version.

On our fourth day, we went back to Tokyo Narita Airport to drop off my sister Marissa, then Teresa and I stayed one night in Tokyo before heading to Hokkaido making some stops along the way. We bought two weeks JR Pass which made it easy to travel and can get you so far in no time.

Check for my next video to show you our travel to Hokkaido and how we got stranded there on our way back due to snow storm. It was a very eventful journey having met a Japanese lady who provided us shelter and food for the night.
