Hiroshima’s famous Miyajima island short 10-minute ferries start just before 7am and have ferries until late at night – it is very crowded now, so try to get to the island as early as possible – you can see all the famous sights early before the crowds. It would be nice if they were electric or hydrogen or biodiesel powered – solar power on the ports and electric boats back and forth is the self-sufficient sustainable transportation dream! I would also be great to see water refill areas in the ports. There are lockers, small shops, ATM and wheelchairs you can borrow on the island. Use your JR railpass for free travel on the JR ferry.
