Hello Friends, I will show you the world’s largest and oldest covered bazaar in Istanbul. Grand Bazaar has 60 streets with more than 4,000 shops. Ottoman Sultan Mehmet, commonly known as Mehmed the Conqueror, ordered the construction of this bazaar so that merchants could sell their products and make a profit for the Hagia Sofia Mosque.
The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is often regarded as one of the first shopping malls in the world. In 2014, it was listed no.1 among the world’s most-visited tourist attractions with 91,250,000 annual visitors.
Grand Bazaar has 21 gates, 2 bedestens, 17 inns, 60 streets, nearly 4000 shops and employs more than 30,000 people.
