After arriving in Mombasa, Kenya the previous evening, I set out the next morning to go on a fantastic street food tour for breakfast! Join me on my breakfast street food tour of Mombasa, Kenya!
Mombasa lies on the Indian Ocean and has been a trade hub for centuries. It’s also the street food capital of Kenya and the country’s second-largest city.

MAALIM CAFE: We started in the kitchens with some fried potatoes with chilies, sweet chapati, and bananas (matoke) with coconut cream. Then, we had tamarind juice with ginger, chapati, maharagwe (kidney beans in coconut milk), sambosa, chai, bhajia, supa ya nyama (beef soup), viazi vya rojo (tomato stew with potatoes), and fried red snapper. We ended with some biscuits!

My boy David, you killed it man. You know what tastes good. The viazi karai, coconut maharagwe and coconut bananas, you nailed it.
Would have been great if you got a local guide in Mombasa who understands the dishes. They are very different in Nairobi

It's not beans but same as beans… It's called mahamri… It's different kind of beans where you can't find in another country
Ohhh this makes me homesick!! Beautiful food! 😋
I appreciate sharing Mombasa and foods..but just a suggestion that you only showed the local or poor areas both in Nairobi and Mombasa but hope there is more to come with your other videos. I also noticed that the Masai Mara video is no longer there..
Your curry videos are fantastic very tantalizing but what irritates me is when you go mmmm that is so irritating stop it but your vlogs are good
The street foods looked so tasty/delicious and a lot of them are very natural/healthy…esp the plantain with coconut creams and the tamarind/ginger drinks. Another great showing of the delicious street foods of Kenya. Thanks David and Tasos and stay safe on all your travels. Blessings.

So much to see and learn. The food looks tasty and delish. Simple and effective way of life. Always interesting to see these special places. 💖
YOU KNOW GREAT FOOD, BRO..!!!!
davidsbeenhere ok….
Not bad David, however being from Mombasa myself I'd rather say its better to have a proper guide from Mombasa who knows better of all the cool spots and what each of these dishes represent to the coast, and also contain. I still enjoyed the video and happy to see you enjoying the food and culture 😆
When my homies are in online multiplayer big setup and RGB lighting 😂me in my solo room apartment making callouts and grasping street food for a low budget with my potato low end pc low settings 😂
The beauty of motherland
Jambo brouh ,thats my home! Keep me starving

4:05 pass the hot chapati 😂😂😂😂
This vid has inspired me to go down to Mombasa after Easter for the food. The beans in coconut milk and the cassava chips are calling my name 😀
At 8:30 the guy said ''Baba ebu kakae kando twachie sisi tuliosoma'' which translates to ''Kindly stay away,And leave them to us who are learned''🤣🤣
Hello david.. can u drop the location of maalim cafe am in Mombasa town..am hungry I need to go grab some coconut beans and pilau
Now this guy has understood Mombasa holistically. You cannot define Mombasa because there's alot of Local African, Indian, Arabic,Portuguese and English influences.
Wow 😋
wow wow wow!!!!!!
For your info. This bhajia is not potato…its fried red grains gravy mixed with garlic, onions and other spices.
The tour guy is not well informed with the local traditional meals. He could have ask for the correct names in English from the hosts
Can you give the names of cafes you eat at?
My boy Sam . Kenya to the world
