Nishinari is well known by locals as the most dangerous area of Osaka. But just how dangerous is it? After spending a whole week staying in a hotel there, I thought I would share my experience, as well as join a tour that goes deeper into the district to some areas that I probably wouldn’t want to go to alone… especially at night. Nishinari definitely has a different feel to it compared to the rest of the city, but I think that’s what kind of gives it its charm and makes you look at Japan in a new light. Join me on this tour as we walk around the district, talk about some taboo topics in Japanese culture and give you some insight of how people here live. Hope you enjoy the video!

The travel health insurance I use – PassportCard Nomads: https://www.passportcardnomads.com/?ref=alinamcleod
*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don’t have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they’re especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

Interesting video about a less known side of Japan, you succeeded in doing something original. Fun fact, Luca is an Italian name and your guide spoke English with venetian accent.
Thank you so much for this video. I can't wait to see more videos about japan
You know what Alina, it's been just over a month or so that I discovered this channel…stumbled upon your Pai, Thailand video for the very first time. Since then I might have watched half of your videos out of 456 videos so far (binge-watching your older videos now)….but still am unable to figure out what it is that's so uniqely enticing or enticingly unique….!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't know… I'm actually at a loss for words to be explaining…!!! These videos that you produce have some feel to them. The more I see your videos the more I wanna come back. I have been to South East Asia before…but I couldn't do Japan. This was and still is on my bucket list for sure. Your videos just give out a very distinctive perspective altogether. I have become an ardent admirer of your creations now….😊lol…!!! You are doing something that I have never expected, in this video…! So brave…but be safe..! ALL RESPECT TO YOU…Alina…!!!
I live in Osaka, Japan, for many years…..Nishinari area is not so dangerous after all….there are many homeless and foreigners as there are many cheap hotels around, but apart from that, not so many dangers….and there is the red district area with prostitutes, but it's very much controlled and not much dangerous….the only thing is that many of the prostitutes don't want to have sex with the so called 'gaijin' or 'gaikogujin', which is the word for 'foreigners'. I would call Nishinari the dirtiest area of Japan.
Every country has their own dark side. Why stay ignorant?
Be safe life is watching moving travelling listening.
Hi Alina hey did u send me a message on youtube u asked for money cause u needed help but this seemed odd so I was just checking sorry for bugging u
Alina was probably laughing in her head during this whole tour, thinking "uh, have you ever had a gun pointed at your head while on a bridge overlooking the slums of Colombia? This looks like happy land compared to that". 😂
You should place Cairo on your list, you would really love it.
Very well done and engaging! It was very nice of him to let you film his Tour, made for interesting viewing!
Stayed in Nishinari-ku back in '19 and never felt unsafe, or even a little nervous… though it might help that I am a 6'3" former US Marine and walk with a sense of purpose and strength, or so I am told by my lovely Better Half, Alan… but, who knows?!
Yakuza aside, Japan is the safest place on earth.
Besides all those cities of kyoto, osaka…perhaps gunma will be a nice change. The only haagen dazs factory in asia.
Somebody as beautiful as Alina over there ofc those bitches be hating 🤣🤣🤪🤪
Even with a famous criminal organisation like the Yakuza being ubiquitous in the country, Japan is safe on a whole another level.
Hi❤
Beautiful.
Please don't get me wrong. Nishinari is notorious for impression manipulation by Easterners.
Eastern Japanese hate Kansai people. That's why I express the city of Kansai badly.
Your videos are great
Your guide, Alina, spoke in a patter that it was impossible to make out anything if only by ear. Thank you. Greetings from Ukraine😂
hello Alina.im vietnamese .right now i lam living Osaka near Nishinari. i am very surprised when you come osaka.
