  1. Happy for the cast members. They are so important to the magic. Many of our holiday highlights were because cast members always went above and beyond.

  2. Your Support of the Cast Members during our battle to achieve a Decent pay raise is GREATLY APPRECIATED Thank you Tom

  3. So glad the team members got their raise unfortunately it was at the cost of many layoffs and price increases.

  4. Cast members got their raise, yay! The public will have to pay higher prices to pay for this raise, boo!

  5. Lower cost of living in Florida than New New England, but the wage of office work is about that around here. Many jobs are actually that or less in my area.

  6. Great news for the Disney World staff and rightly deserved. Not quite sure if HK Disney realise what morning glory means in other parts of the world but it doesn’t mean playing with Duffy the bear and friend’s. They may want to rethink that experience’s name.

  7. Congrats to all Cast Members!!! You all deserve to be paid for all the work you do! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  8. New uniform requirement to go with? I want to see Cast Members' faces. I am going in part to have service with a smile. There are other non-customer facing positions they can fill.

  9. I put in my two weeks. It’s too little too late. Oh and Disney uses the same point system that Walmart does. It’s terrible. Don’t get sick or don’t have reoccurring sickness. The automated point system doesn’t care.

  10. Why is disney pushing a certain life style. Most parents don't want that for their children.

  11. This is wonderful news! The cast members deserve a better wage. I will celebrate by booking a WDW vacation, my first visit in 5 long, painful years. Thank you Tom, for being so vocal about this important issue.

  12. I hope everyone likes additional price jack ups cause that cast member pay raise will all be passed onto the guests. Prices in the parks will skyrocket higher. Raising the minimum wage each time prices go up isnt the answer. Its a negative feedback loop. Prices for goods, utilities, and services need to come down so people can live on a minimum wage.

  13. I live in the uk, I find it shocking that Americans get only minimum time “bonding” following having a baby! 8 weeks ?!?! We get 6 months minimum ! Where I work, we get 9 months paid leave, not full pay but at least it’s not weeks. 😢
I’m so glad they got a pay rise . Well deserved

  14. Anyone who has visited WDW knows it IS the cast that makes the magic👏🏼👏🏼well done Tom and anyone who publicly supported the cast members 7:44

  15. One of the best news for Disney besides BI return / BC departure …. The cast make the magic. They are by far the most important part of Disney parks making your experience magic! Cannot be happier for them and cannot wait to go back and see all those smiles !

  16. Now that the pay thing is settled, can we focus on the fact that apparently Japan has a numbered scale for hair colors? Thanks for the new Google rabbit hole to fall in…

  17. Yay, I am so happy to hear the cast members got this. I agree with everything you said. Someone higher up made this call that Disney should be setting the example in fair pay. My guess whoever was negotiating this had their bonus attached to getting the “best” meaning cheapest deal. I wonder what department oversaw this negotiation, legal and accounting……?

  18. It's important for theme parks to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees, but threatening passholders with arrest seems excessive. On a more positive note, it's great to see cast members win negotiations for a raise. It's important to support and value the hardworking employees who help make the magic happen at theme parks.

  19. Cast members "won"… you can't be serious?

This "raise" was funded through layoffs and reduction in hiring new positions. In essence, the majority kicked out a minority, stole their wages and redistributed among those who were left . That is how this works. Won? Sure… in the evolutionary sense.

  20. Excellent news for cast members! They have a tremendous impact on each guest's experience and deserve fair pay for their continuous Disney-level customer service!

  21. The fact that employees only get a week to learn about the new contract and one day to vote on it seems…wrong. Couldn't imagine taking one week to learn about my new work rules and then having just one day to vote on it. It takes time to fully understand what you're agreeing to, especially when it completely runs your work life.

  22. Glad for the raises but not sure if it’s going to make up for all the extra work they will need to do if they are going to cut 700k jobs! So they take the money from that and use it for the raises. 😕

  23. I’m happy for the cast members but also sadly a little suspicious that Disney will just lay more people off in the current layoffs to make up for it.
