  1. One day I will make my way to Japan and it’s because of your videos

  2. Really amazing spots for some original relaxing time. i'll visit before going home next week. Thanks a lot for the insight. Always appreciate your valuable taste for these kind of places. 🙌

  3. You were close with the pronunciation of “stroopwafel”! It is Dutch though, not German. But that’s okay! I can’t speak German as a Dutchie, but German and Dutch are pretty close according to many people! So no worries you got the country wrong. It was cool how close you were with the pronunciation ☺️. I love that you knew the trick of putting the stroopwafel on top of a hot drink! Not everyone is aware of this. It makes the stroopwafel so much more delicious!

  4. Oh, this is such a blast! The music and atmosphere of the first stop is so whimsical like a hidden garden. The 2nd stop has you exercising for the burn! Oh baby, watch yourself! The third stop, bring it on! The music and the beautiful face of Shizuka is so alive! Man, I would like to grow in Japan for some time…🌹

  5. Shizuka these cafes are so quaint, they are original and very unique. I really enjoyed this visit.

  6. しずかさん、ついに高円寺にきたのですね、私が高校生のときによく通った街です。なつかしいです。

  7. Omg, I could just feel your enthusiasm from watching your video, Shizuka. How you manage to find these gems that would be easily overlooked by the average person is really beyond my imagination. Thank you for taking the time to find these places and bringing them to the forefront of Japanese daily life.

  8. That 1st place blows me away!
Me, a book & a cup of chocolate tea.
That, I really want to do!
Keep up the great work Shizuka!

  9. Can‘t you do sone videos in Europe, the adventure level of Jp is about 0. It hurts me seeing you pretending thst this stuff is interesting 😆

  10. Lived in Koenji for 2 years and loved the place. There was an owl cafe not too far from the doughnut store – wonder if it's still there…

  11. Oh, I wish this was uploaded before I returned from Japan. That first cafe is so amazing. Adding it to my bucket list for 2024…

  12. The cafes were amazing Shizuka! And I never knew doku shokukan means reading room. I've learned so much Japanese from you than my Japanese classes in Los Angeles. Thanks again Shizuka!

  13. Stroopwafels are actually from Netherlands not Germany, they are so yummy with espresso or even a warm matcha latte *ੈ✩‧₊˚

  14. Great video Shizuka! I love desserts especially when they're from Japan. And I love your walking tours around quaint places like this. Though Tokyo is a fun place to visit, I'd rather visit Koenji because of what the vibe looks like. Too funny on blowing the dessert before you took a bite. That was cute! 😅

  15. Had donuts at floresta too, liked the matcha one, would love to visit one of the cafés!

  16. Hi Shizuka, have you guys ever done videos with restaurants that are also live music venues? Also I really liked this video, the first place kinda reminds me of those lo-fi/jazz YouTube videos that uses drawn cafe stills for the whole thing.

  17. Those were some amazing cafes!🤩 Looking forward to my trip to Japan in May, gonna check those cafes out when I'm around in Tokyo!!

  18. While I wouldn't necessarily call it my favorite episode of Japan by Food or describe it as amazing and surprising but it was nice and simple. It's also nice to know there is a corner in Tokyo with many vintage thematic cafes and second-hand stores. I like the vibe. 😉😉

  19. Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((wf

  20. For two years I used to live exactly on the middle-point between Nakano and Koenji JR station, 5 mins walk to the right of my door ? Koenji station. 5 mins to the left? Nakano station!
Lovd this video seeing Koenji again. It's a really nice little part of Tokyo. Loved listening to the buskers under the station's tunnel as well, esp on a rainy night that was such a vibe to get a can of hot coffee and enjoy some live music.

Re: Stroopwafel; I always bring Stroopwafels from Holland whenever I go back to Tokyo to visit my friends. That's actually the pro local Dutch way to eat a stroopwafel, funny they knew about it 😀
