    Regarding Pre-arrival registration, I have faced similar situation and it’s big pain. Place of birth in Passport was Trichur but in Hongkong embassy’s system it’s the new name Thrissur instead of Trichur. So the same way, passport was kept aside during immigration and they verified the difference and then allowed us in.
    Also another important thing is, it your passport place of issue is Hyderabad, Chandigarh or Kolkata, majority of the time, Pre- arrival registration will fail and you will be in trouble. Once failed, all documents has to be sent to HK embassy by post and it will take a month to get approval. So only make your bookings once Pre- Arrival registration (PAR) is successful.

    Iam not getting a clarification on my query on the visa type.. You are travelling for your work but on a tourist visa. Is it not an issue?

    Technically all Indians can enter HongKong with Pre approval registration. But in reality if your passport issued in North Indian places, Kolkata , Chennai etc..then its hard and the success rate of HK PAR is very unlikely 😂.

    One more note, the highest illegal immigrants population in HK are Indians so obviously they will check you if you carry Indian passport.
