FIRST FLIGHT: Singapore Airlines NEW Business Class Route Inaugural

Today I’m flying onboard Singapore Airlines on their newest route. I’ll be trying out their Airbus A350 Business Class, in what I regard as the very best seat onboard, the bulkhead. This is what’s known as a fifth freedom flight, between Copenhagen, Denmark and Rome, Italy.

After my experience today I have to say I’m overall very impressed with SQ, and it arguably rivals some First Class products out there. The food service was certainly lacking today however, and the ground service in Copenhagen was a shambles to say the least. Thankfully the SAS staff were super helpful, and I’m sure these issues will be ironed out in due course, given that today is the inaugural. This new route does offer a super opportunity for those Europe based on indeed those needing to travel between Denmark and Italy, a chance to try an airline which almost exclusively flies mid / long haul flights.

    great review. Re the angled seats on a long haul flight: I flew SQ22 on the 359ULR two years ago and I'd have to say that even at 1.94m the angled seats and the foot cubby are not an issue at all – so no worries there 😉

    I’m sorry but I can’t give any sympathy about the food. In the US a bag of chips and a tiny bottle of soda is a luxury. Singapore will be back with the wonderful food before you know it and I’ll still be eating chips. ☹️. Love your show!!!!

    Taking Singapore Airlines on the Airbus A350-900 Business class from Singapore to melbourne , I can't wait!
    Would have loved to seen a review of you sitting in one of the middle seats for comparison though, otherwise great review!

    yes ou had the best seat in the house, the seats behind you are not that good, and I find it bothersome to make the bed-the old seats in the A380 …heaven

    Videos need to have the take they were made clearly visible. Many talk about how great something was six or more months (years) ago something was, but not now. (Jan. 23, 2022)

    Gee, for an inaugural flight, there wasn’t much fanfare!! No special amenities or desserts or a finer cuisine than a salmon sandwich. I agree that those diagonal bed layouts don’t appear too comfy for a long haul. 👍

    Hi. Next time when u do a review, is it OK try to select a business class seat that's on the middle. Not everyone can reserve the desire and best front seat. Anyway nice review on SQ. 👍

    Haha,so I live in Germany,and in Munich,the city I live in,a lot of people still wear masks.However,when I visited Paris and Rome,nobody wore their masks.In the airport a lot wore their masks,but outside,it was like the pandemic never even hit!
