I like to watch whatever you’re doing, although I do love Florida and USA trips. I completely understand what you mean about getting a sense of feeling close to your mum. I’ve been there. I lost my dad first and I loved to talk about him, it kept him, and still does, alive in my life. Same now since losing my mum. ❤
The one good lesson we all learn from losing a loved one is to treat those we love with kindness and care because we never know when they will be taken from us. When you look at it that way you realize that meaness, pettiness, and holding grudges are such a tremendous waste of precious time.
Looking forward to your New York trip! We go in July for my sons 16th 😊😊😊
YAY!!! This is gonna ba EPIC!! When are we going Dads? 😁😁🤣
What A Beautiful idea to do all the things your mum did, I hope you have a blast. Cant wait for the lodge guys/ Bazza's vlogs xx
Hope you guys are having the best time, you definitely deserve it! Every days best ❤
Great vlog looking forward to watching the vlogs ❤
How lovely to visit the same places as your mum . Someone l know said they went to summit One observation deck in NY it looked an was sensational if you get time or it might already be on your list . Can’t wait for your trip x
Ooo not sure if the edge is the same as what l mentioned . X
It's part of healing for some people to want to go where their loved one went . There's nothing wrong with it. My oldest daughter and I want to go back to Florida because that was our last family vacation with my youngest daughter before she passed away.
Lived my whole life in NY until 18 months ago when we moved to Orlando…hopefully you had a blast and cannot wait to see the fun you get up to with the Bazzas!
I saw my dad in the chapel of rest and I freaked out as it looked nothing like him and that feeling takes a long time to fade.
Enjoy your trip we did a similar road trip in 2015 and loved it.
I would say rather than doing both the Empire State Building and Rockerfella Centre, just do Rockerfella. You get a much better view of Central Park and you can also look back at the Empire State Building which is the most iconic building in Manhattan! 🗽
I went and saw my mom before the funeral service and I said never again. I completely know what you mean❤
Charleston is beautiful. Look for garden tours of the old homes while you are there. They are nice to visit.
For the last 3 months I had to watch my sister go through what I went through with my late partner. My heart broke for her knowing what was to come for her. Her partner passed away from cancer on the 22nd of March. Today is her 51st birthday. She is totally heartbroken. 💜💜
I was there when my mum passed and I could see that life had left her body. 💔 she didn't look like my mum anymore. I didn't go in & see her again x
I plan my holidays exactly the same way. It's just an easy way to track what's happening 🙂
Today I am just catching up on the your videos, after having spinal surgery, my heart goes out to you and your family 😢 Sending u both massive hugs and love, I’m feeling every bit of your pain my heart hurts everyday with the loss of my mum who passed away 16 years ago, it’s still doesn’t seem real, but if I keep talking about her, it gets me through each day 😢, your mum would be very proud of you both, remember the beautiful memories you made with her, she will always be with you, sending hugs ❤️xx
I watch every vlog. Love you guys ❤
Death is very raw, many times the phone rang and just for a split second I thought it was my Mam.
I can’t wait to see your upcoming travel vlogs, as always… I, for one love whatever you do… Whether you’re in the apartment, in the lodge, traveling, anything you do i love it! You really do seem like everybody’s friend… I love the community… I’m so thankful to have found your channel Way back when … Keep doing you… Love you guys❤️❤️
Hi Nick & Leigh, firstly so sorry for the loss of your lovely mum. I can so relate to how Nick felt about seeing his mum in the Chapel of rest. When I saw my mum in the Chapel, even though I always said I never would do that, I just wanted to see her face again and say one final goodbye. I stupidly even rubbed her hand to try and warm it up. The things we do when we’re grieving, trying to make sense of what has now gone but I’m so glad I went now. I just needed to see her one more time ❤️
Guys – Loving your plans. I hope it heals your wounds from the last few months. Your trip last year inspired me to plan our own journeys across America. I know have North, South, East & West road trips being planned. Let me know if you want me to share any info.
PS: Guessing that you’re already there and doing but, hey!
Cancer is a terrible disease. My mom is going through chemo now and it is so hard to watch her struggling. I hope you guys enjoy New York and I love the idea of following in Nick’s moms footsteps.
Hey Nick and Leigh, I'm in the DC area, I highly recommend you find your hotel before you come to DC. You don't want to get something at the last minute because you'll pay high prices for a dump. The Embassy Suites downtown is nice, but you also get a free breakfast. That will save you a ton on food. Also, get your car rental when you LEAVE DC. It's not worth it to do a rental when you're in the city. The Metro is pretty decent, as well as Uber and Lyft. Parking can be high, so it's not worth it to rent until you leave. Finally, the best way to see the monuments in DC is get tickets on one of the shuttles out of Union Station. That way you can learn more about the monument, but you don't have to worry about parking, the subway, or traffic. There are no time limits for when you visit a monument, so you're not pressed for time. Or you can get tickets for the Segway tours. But the most important thing is not to pay full price. Download Groupon for DC tours. You will save a ton of money. Oh BTW, before you get on ANY highway, check to see if there will be road construction. Especially those scenic routes. Always have a backup for those routes. 😉
