Located on the shores of Lake Chivero in Harare, Zimbabwe, Kuimba Shiri Bird Sanctuary was founded in 1994. It houses over 600 species of all kinds of African birds.
Some popular birds that can be found in this park include the crested crane and the African Jacana. If you are a bird enthusiast, this the place to visit when in Zimbabwe. Even extinct and near-extinct birds like the Egyptian vulture can be found here. Bird species that you see here range from beautiful, rare and scary.
Visitors get a chance to walk around the park and see some very rare and beautiful birds.

** THEY URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP ** – PLEASE HELP SUPPORT Kuimba Shiri Bird Park.
July 30th 2020 – I am an avid birder and was born and raised in S Africa (now living in the USA). I travelled to then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in my youth and fell in love with the country. The economic collapse that is happening there now is a tragedy, not to mention the political situation the country is in.
So I am posting this comment in the hope that you may be a nature & bird lover too.
Gary Stafford and his team of dedicated conservationists at the Kuimba Shiri Bird Park do an amazing job of preserving their precious wildlife and educating thousands of others about the importance and benefits of conserving these beautiful birds.
Now they desperately need your help to survive the COVID crisis which has cut off 95% of the tourist traffic on which they survived.
Please support the efforts of the Kuimba Shiri Bird Park through their official GoFundMe page, they really need it during this difficult time.
We can’t post the link here due to YouTube restrictions, but just search for “Kuimba Shiri Conservation Fund” on the GoFundMe page, and THANK YOU for your generosity.
Thank you for making this movie and covering the Kuimba Shiri Bird Park, they do such good work there 🙏🏼
