    You asked for recommendations so here’s one for you: Miyako-jima, Japan. It’s an island in the southern part of Japan (Okinawa prefecture) and is about an hour (I think) flight from Naha, Okinawa. It’s home to some of the most incredible beaches I have ever seen and some of the nicest people I have ever met. I stayed there for a week (at Hotel Locus – shout out to their awesome staff!) and rented a car. The colour of the water there is often known as “Miyako Blue” and is so ridiculously blue, beautiful, and clear. There is a lot to do and see, and the food is an amazing mix of traditional Japanese and southeast Asian. I highly encourage you to check out this island and the others in the region. Happy travels!
