MBK Center Bangkok Update March 2023. MBK is full with tourists again. Good to see that the city is packed.
Walked all floors to see how it is now! The Mall has 7 floors, it opened in 1985, at that time it was the biggest Mall in Bangkok.

First mall I visited on my first trip to Bkk in 2005. Back then this was THE place to be.

The shame is that my favourite MBK food court eatery no longer exists…….. it was the pure vegetarian one. At the end of last year, I looked around the court and sadly there was no vegetarian or vegan options π
Thereβs one stall in the MBK food court upstairs that serves Indonesian food. (Which is hard to find in Bangkok.)
This video is the most time Iβve spent in a mall π Iβve used icon Siams bathrooms a few times but I refuse to spend time or money in those places.. theyβre ruining Thailand ..

If you want to get scammed big time then you should buy here. In 2019 they sold me a fake Samsung phone made in Vietnam. Next day i went back to complain and they admid it is a fake copy and give my money back buth only to buy another phone.
I believe behind the big screen is where Tokyu Department store used to be? MBK's been around since more than 30 years ago. All the memories!
I find places like this fascinating and completely overwhelming!! I love it though!!!! Where would you find the least pricey items, here or street vendor….quality??

Great update on MBK! A bit sad to see Tokyo store go but a very much needed renovation overall to the mall. Glad to see that the small electronic gadget stores are still there, as well as the food court. Many thanks for the update!
Bedankt voor een tour van mijn favoriete winkel centrum in BKK. Woow de foodcourt is helemaal anders, mooi een beetje meer zoals in Terminal 21.
My first MBK visit was in 1989 when I worked in Saudi Arabia.
When I worked in Bangkok in 1989 and 1991 I spent many days off in this mall.
Many late afternoon to night's were spent in the open beer garden with their frozen beer mugs and yummy food.
But my all time favourite is always the braised pork leg at the food mall.
In the upstairs cinema I experience for the first time the love and respect of the Thai people towards their King and his family were everyone stands up and is silent.
Gives me goosebumps a shiver down my spine every time.
Looking forward to my next BKK MBK visit since we in Hong Kong are free to travel again.

MBK has a special part in my heart. I guess after so many years renovation is a necessity to compete with other shopping malls. The new uniform grey theme is too impersonal to me, unfortunately. Before the COVID, MBK has a best Som Tum. Hopefully it is still there when I return. thank you for the update. Great work, as always.
MBK will slowly come back . By the way Joeren in MBK there is an excellent tailor i have been using for over 6 years. I highly recommend them and i trust them. If anyone wants a trustworthy tailor BK Tailors – 3C-47 3rd Floor. PK is the main man. Sorry not trying to solicit just friendly suggestion π
