  1. Excelent tips. Booking a flight with a connecting flight is definitely cheaper. However some of those wait times are miserable as short as 25 min. I've already missed some. So sometimes not worth the savings. Also getting on 2-3 planes in 24hrs is taxing on the body and wind up not being well rested for following day. Always good to take that into account

  2. Scam being done by many airlines is they are tacking a return fare to round trip tickets. And that return fare can be twice that of the round trip fare. Also have seen airlines tacking on a $150 check in bag charge. I will not book any flight nor Changeable or Refundable without penalty. And to hell with travel insurance where they fgladly take your money but never pay for covered events.

  3. Tip: If travelling with spouse/partner/friend, always book two aisle seats across from one another (rather than next to each other). You are still able to talk easily but chances are at least one of you will get "poor man's business class" i.e. no-one occupying the middle seat so extra room. Obviously won't work on fully booked flights and probably not the best choice for newlyweds with some hand-holding in mind! For non-newlyweds and introverts, it's great though 🙂 Good video Chris – even as someone who travels fairly often there were a few tricks and tips I hadn't considered so thank you!

  4. You know it is Panda Day? Maybe you know about that too! Thought you might do a short on that with Topher

  5. Great information Chris. We tend to book earlier because we pick our seats and are particular about the seats as they are most important. We check for pricing , etc as well.

  6. Hi Chris. Thanks for the great tips. Never heard about Google Flights before. So I will give a try for my next trip, Take care.

  7. I love all these great tips! I really need to keep in mind about setting price alerts. I'm potentially going to go on a big international trip in early September, so I may need to consider this in the coming weeks. I agree also with using the multi-city feature. I remember reading that it may sometimes be cheaper to fly into one city and then flight out of another. I did this last fall when I flew from Detroit to Belgrade and then flew home from Rome.

  8. I actually just booked one-way for me and some of my kids from LAX to Morocco. I initially just booked the outbound since I didn’t know what flight I wanted to return but wanted to be on the specific outbound.
Later (within the 24 hour cancellation period) I found the return I wanted. Turned out booking the round trip was going to be MUCH CHEAPER than what just the one-way was going to be.
So I booked the round trip, then cancelled the one-ways. Ending up saving so much money!
Crazy cuz usually 2 one-ways are better!

  9. I can sometimes find cheaper stuff on my company’s discount program website
