Do you know which volcano is the most active in Japan? The answer is: Mt. Aso in Kyushu Japan! Mt. Aso is located in Kumamoto prefecture and consists of five peaks.

Today’s adventure is to Mt. Nakadake, one of the parts of Mt. Aso where you can see much of the volcanic activity up close. For those looking for an outdoor activity in Kyushu, climbing here is a great trip!

We were on the trail for about 6 hours, but this included many stops and a relaxing lunch break at the top of Mt. Nakadake. Afterwards, our group celebrated with BBQ and homemade hotpot.
