If you’re looking to visit a city other than the main ones like Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka – check out Tottori Prefecture in the Japanese countryside!
The big cities are great, but the countryside is where you can truly experience the ‘real’ Japanese culture (in my opinion).

We've been wanting to go to Tottori since planning our March trip to Japan back in 2020 (fail 😢), but now that we can only manage to come in August we feel like it'd be way too hot in that period…any recommendations about it? Is the heat/humidity actually bearable?

Great video as always!! During my last visit to Japan I was able to spend a few days in early December visiting Tottori. Unfortunately the weather that week wasn’t so good and I wasn’t able to go out as much as I’d hope😅 Visited Conan Town in Hokuei, Mizuki Shigeru Museum in Sakaiminato and Uradome Coast at Iwami. But seeing Tottori Station brought back good memories 😊 I do want to go back and visit again and do the hike!
