Kyoto Botanical Garden (京都府立植物園) was founded in 1924 making it the oldest prefectural garden in Japan. It also houses the most extensive plant collection. So, you can enjoy a variety of seasonal plants and flowers all year round!

The garden has nearly major areas including Bamboo, Bonsai, Hydrangea, Japanese, Bulb, and Cherry Blossom Gardens. There’s also a conservatory where you can enjoy numerous tropical plants.

In spring, it’s quite famous for the wide variety of Cherry trees, about 450 trees. There’s also an area for tulips!

So, if you come to Kyoto, check out this botanical garden. You won’t be disappointed!

¥200 or ¥400 (including an entrance to the conservatory)

How to get there:
From Kyoto Station, get on the Karasuma Subway Line heading north to Kokusaikaikan. Then, get off at Kitayama Station. And take Exit 3. It takes about 18 minutes.
