This is strictly our opinion of the Ramen we had and this is from one dining experience at their Amsterdam Central branch.

  1. I was in England some years ago and craved Japanese food. I, too, went to Wagamama & was disappointed, e.g. faux Japanese food.

  2. Completely agree with your review, their "ramen" is awful!! Wagamama is a chain restaurant so it is to be expected. I'm not sure about Amsterdam but we are lucky here in London that we have places that do real ramen which are fantastic!

  3. Satoshi is totally in his happy place . Love ❤ ❤❤ the decor of the restaurant has a great vibe , and the food looks delicious . But honesty will make this restaurant even more popular.

  4. I never took the ramen from Wagamama, I usually get the curry. But yes that is not ramen, it never really appealed it me haha

  5. As much as I like Japanese ramen, the best just wouldn’t sell to a wide demographic in the west. Europe or N. America, we are need a fusion and more complicated version to pull out our wallets. Only those who’ve eaten a lot of ramen in Japan would pay for the nostalgia. I’ve been disappointed so many times here in the US, nit only by the ?Authentic Ramen: but by how many people think it’s fabulous. しょうがないね

  6. Don’t go for diner in Amsterdam ever. Expansive, and overall pretty bad. Amsterdam is tourist theme park, so is the quality. In the Netherlands everything outside of Amsterdam is better.

  7. Hey it does look pretty good to me ! I would love it for sure and I'm just a 5 h drive to where u at in this vids, it look pretty damn good!!

  8. Wagamama is huge in Europe, it’s for our tastes not real Japanese people. It’s a big v successful restaurant chain. It’s for western palates not Japanese, bless. Of course it’s not real ramen. Love you both.

  9. Wagamama has changed a lot during the last couple of decades, when they first opened it was definitely more Japanese inspired and their ramen was better. But now they consider themselves more fusion

  10. Ooh interesting. It's honestly refreshing to see you beeing more critical about something 😅 Getting decent ramen in europe can be hard.

  11. Hope you guys had a nice visit! My wife did tell you to try Ramen Kingdom when she saw you om the ferry 🤣

  12. Actually had this place in Dubai, not sure if it was the same chain as this one here but it was also "Wagamama". It's like their own interpretation of ramen, not the best however edible for me.

  13. Wagamama is not meant to be authentic Asian cuisine though.
It is a big chain that specialises in fusion and making Asian dishes that are more palatable to western tastes.

  14. a while ago my wife went to the one in London. She said it was okay, but not for the price.

  15. Wagamama is a chain, I believe. I feel sorry for you guys that you had to go there. There is a great ramen shop called Fuo Fow in Amsterdam. If you're ever back, you should go there.

  16. Why. Why the hell would you go to Wagamama, there’s actually a few non chain Raman places in Amsterdam.

Don’t go to Wagamama ever!! It’s literal dog shit!

  17. Wagamama is a british chain , With a founder that is from honkong and ceo that is the same guy form traveloge a well mediocre travel hotel .

The founder also does thai and chineese restaurants . while he was ten when he arived in londen , Yeah not the best of reputations .

There are some good japanese restaurants in the Netherlands even amsterdam Yamazato , de Japanner ( the japanese ) . and many others around the Netherlands 350 years of friendship and trade Asian food is highly popular in the netherlands , And japanese restaurants are as abundent as indonesian /chinees, and thai restaurants.

  18. No wagamama no… there are beautiful ramen shops in Amsterdam, Japanese-grade food!

  19. Not very descriptive, vague reasons why the Rāmen at Wagamama is not to your liking. Just visually it seems to fit in the style of Assari (refreshing, simple, delicate) Rāmen while most Rāmen is rich, fatty, meaty, Perhaps this broth is too underflavoured, bland to your liking? Would it be better to think of it as closer to Soba in its simplicity? Or is the taste of this Rāmen inferior in some way?
