  1. I have only used princess transfer one time… for 10 cruises….it was during the end of covid( first sailing of the Sapphire) I did it because we were traveling with a baby and elderly parents and alll the covid testing issues. They were very unorganized and we waited a long time! That would not be my choice again as you can get a taxi cheaper and quicker! However, having said that there are places and times and logistics that getting their transfer may be the best…a woman traveling alone? ….the country you are visiting?

  2. Just want to say that YOU Allison are absolutely fantastic. I live in the UK. You have consistently brought amazing content. Your info on transfers in this episode was amazingly helpful. I liked your positivity too especially when a captain has to alter course to avoid storms and bad events. I have been on a few cruises in my time Princess, Cunard, P and O and MSC and the ports that have been missed have always been replaced with other ports. My first ever cruise in the modern era (see below for old) was with Star Princess around South America and we visited every single port on the itinerary and went round Cape Horn twice because the weather was perfect .. unfortunately the previous cruise on the same ship suffered with bad weather and ports were missed and the itinerary suffered.. it is all down to luck. On another cruise I was on (transatlantic to and from Southampton to the Caribbean) a port in the Azores was cancelled so the captain headed to a port in Spain instead called A Coruna. It was a good last minute change ..hundreds of miles away but we were on our way home anyway. I liked it when you said "Embrace It'. I am on Sky Princess in June, to and from Southampton, to the Norwegian Fjords and Iceland. I am already in the mindset that we might get some bad weather and missed ports. Your info in previous episodes about Princess drinks packages etc has been invaluable. I have the Princess Plus for my June trip. Many thanks. I have been a subscriber for many months. My first ever cruise in the old era .. was a 10 day school trip in 1967 (I was 15 years of age) on a Russian boat from Tilbury in London to Riga – Latvia visiting many cities in the Baltic. I was sick travelling up the North Sea and I was put to sleep by injection by a Russian doctor because I was so ill.. I woke up the following morning in Copenhagen none the worse. Never been sea sick on any of my modern era cruises (about 10). Thank you for reading if you got this far.

  3. Connie & I have back-to-back cruises booked on the Grand Princess May 6 – 10 (Vancouver to Whittier and back). This will be my first time there, but Connie went on an Alaska cruise with some of her friends ing September back in the 90s. She was fortunate in that the weather was really nice, but she said the people that got off the cruise before said it rained the whole time. So you just go, take your chances, and enjoy it no matter what. But I think May will be a good time to go. We don't get seasick either – actually I enjoy going to sleep at night if the ship is rocking.

  4. An Alaska cruise has been a "bucket list" item of mine for years… and I'm finally going this June on the Ruby Princess round-trip from San Francisco. We've booked a helicopter tour of the glaciers and the Yukon Railroad excursion. It's not cheap, but I don't know whether I will get back to Alaska so I want to make the most of this opportunity.

  5. We went to Alaska in sept 2018 had great weather. This year we are going in June the beginning of summer for Alaska

  6. We have taken an Everglades air boat excursion on disembarkation day following a Princess cruise. It included transfers, air boat tour, and crocodile show. It was a fabulous and stress-free way to end a holiday. Enjoy!

  7. Been to Alaska 6 times and 2 of those in September. One trip experienced waves of 24 feet and it was scary. But 3 of my trips have been since that scary afternoon and night, but going again May 7th this year. Also thinking of booking for next year.

  8. Bill and I did a land sea Alaska cruise with Princess in July of 2018. It was fabulous. I would consider doing it again.

  9. I think the Tic Toc people not enjoying Alaska cruising may want to rethink cruising altogether. I have done a 10 day cruise down to San Diego and we had really rough seas one day. I also have cruised from Hawaii back to Vancouver and we had one rough day. If you plan on cruising, rough seas are always a possibility and, for some of us, part of the fun. Just be sure you have some gravel for sea sickness. Love cruising.

  10. Our first cruise was to Alaska in early May of 2018. The weather was sunny with temperatures reaching high 50's most days. We had no rough seas. This trip was the beginning of our love for cruising on Princess. The scenery was spectacular.

  11. For those of us who LOVE Cruising, we are sooo BLESSED to have you Allison ! Always such GREAT, β€œbreaking” info consistently delivered with a smile !

  12. Absolutely! Everyone should see Alaska. I've been twice and already booked for next year.

  13. ALASKA: It's cold, it's rainy, it's gray and it's gonna last the rest of your life

  14. The Inside Passage is very mellow and I would recommend it for anybody who would like to take an Alaskan cruise.

  15. Tsunami’s happen because of earthquakes. They do not happen often and being out at sea is safer than being on the coast. They are not a weather phenomenon.

I am going on my third Alaska trip in May. Yes it will be cold, but I am not a sit on the beach sort of person. The other two Alaska trips were in August. Great clear weather and calm seas (except 1 night).

Mid ship rooms really help with the motion.

  16. Hi, Allison. How is Princess accommodating wheelchair cruisers on transfers to and from the airport? I have an accessible stateroom on the ship, and I will need a shuttle with a lift to get there. Princess always takes such wonderful care of her cruisers, I'm sure there's a way to make those arrangements to get me from the airport to the ship. So, I'm tapping into your expertise as a travel agent and a loyal fan of Princess, as am I.

  17. I was seasick once and it was awful. My heart goes out to anyone who struggles with the rough waters. As a precaution so I won't be joining those who are suffering, I always take a Dramamine or Bonine generic. The generic medication meclizine doesn't make me sleepy. Note, though, that once the sickness starts, very little will stop it, so follow the product's directions and take the meds before the journey begins. The wise will follow Allison's suggestions, and also, being outside on a lower deck, midship, on seats on the outside for the fresh air, and looking at the horizon helps for some folks. The serenity prayer might help, too. Smooth sailing.

  18. On our upcoming WOTS cruise out of Port Canaveral, our flight home from Orlando isn’t until 655 PM and we were able to book an excursion to Kennedy Space Center which also includes the transfer to the airport. We were excited for this option.

  19. We sailed to Alaska once in the first week of September. We experienced one full day of very, very rough seas. So rough that the captain got out of the inside passage and went out to the open seas for safety reasons. It was quite the adventure and a bit scary at the time. However, it would not deter us from going to Alaska again. It just made us realize how well built the ships are and how well trained the officers and crew are. Go and enjoy even if it may be a bit of an adventure. You are right Allison, Alaska is marvelous.

  20. Great video, great information. You do such a great job keeping us updated πŸ‘πŸ»
