I shot star photography at Mt Fuji, something I didn’t think was possible.

Mt Fuji is impressive. There’s no way around that point. It is a giant, beautiful natural land form. And, yesterday, when I was shooting sunrise photography of Mt Fuji, I was surprised that there were some stars lingering. In fact, there were some fairly bright stars over Mt Fuji. I thought there would be way too much light pollution that close to Tokyo. But, it looked like a good chance. So, I pulled my gear out, and headed to location at 330am to hopefully do some star photography.
The star photography of Mt Fuji went pretty well, in the end. It was beautiful. And, there was actually a bit of Milky Way peaking out above it. Obviously, it wasn’t like shooting stars in a dark sky preserve. But, it was pretty stunning.
Afterwards, I shot a sunrise location and then headed back to my guesthouse to show how cool it is. It was my favourite guesthouse in Japan, and right at the foot of Fujisan. You can’t beat that.
