Excellent, I did a two week self tour of Tokyo, in 2017 summer., stayed at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn at Ningyocho, good central area, lots of restaurants around, cheap too. very near Akihabara and Ginza. JImbocho. Excelletnt hotel cost me 50 CAD(2K PHP per night). nice comfortable beds also a few convenience stores around 24 hrs and vending machines at night after 10 PM its very quiet almost no one in the streets. (except for weekends). I brought 1400 CAD( or 140K Yen or 56K PHP) in cash but I found I only spent about half of that(since I was paying in cash for most of my purchases). Found they accepted credit cards in many places. If you are into Japanese manga, Jimbocho is excellent, for super cheapo manga you can go to the Books offs(the excellent one is in Akihabara) or to Broadway Nakano mall. also you can go to the Mandarakes particularly at Broadway Nakano and Akihabara(massivce ten story building). If you are into boardgames I suggest the Yellow submarines(the best ones are in Akihabara and in Shinjuku) and the Shosen Grande in Jimbocho(love this one, also has excellent Japanese art books by manga masters.
