Münster is a locality and former Swiss municipality of the canton of Valais, located in the district of Goms, of which it was the capital. Münster merged on October 1, 2004 with Geschinen to form the new municipality of Münster-Geschinen. This municipality integrates, on January 1, 2017, the municipality of Goms.

Untouched nature is the greatest treasure of Goms. Hiking, walking, cross-country skiing, skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, ski touring, biking, mountaineering and cycling between 1200 and 4000 m altitude bring you closer to this nature .

There have been gliding enthusiasts in Münster since the 1960s, who operate the former Münster VS airfield in the town and joined forces on March 31, 2001 to form the Münster airfield cooperative. Gliding events are organized in the summer months.

Overlooking Münster, the Galmihornhütte offers breathtaking views of the upper Rhone Valley. You can get there on foot or by bike in summer, while in winter you can get there on snowshoes, via a marked trail. Cross-country skiing on the Loipe Goms or alpine skiing: Münster also inspires winter sports enthusiasts.

With a 9-hole golf course in the area, the Golf Source du Rhône, with hiking and biking trails, with river rafting and with a recreation and leisure facility on the Rotten, the place advertises to tourists. In Obergoms there are 100 km of cross-country ski trails with extra tracks for skating and classic. In winter there is also a small ski lift that connects the ski area with that of Geschinen.

    Most of these structures seem to be expensive family homes, probably for vacation/weekend/holiday use. They are probably modern and very livable inside.

    what an absolutely breathtaking village.
    I love that it is a real lived in village.
    Also one of the charms about your videos (apart from great clipping and beautiful villages) Is the natural sound. Cars, birds, heck even your breathing now and then. Gives a very real feeling of being there myself.
    That you respect the people living there by not intruding on their home more than necessary. Don't point your camera directly into peoples faces etc.

    I don't get it. What is it like in the snow? Is that why the doors and buildings are up so high, those little buildings with open space between or below. Can someone explain the architecture purpose. Certainly pretty.
