Hey guys! Here’s part 2 of my travelogue in Japan! 😉

We went to Universal Studios Japan which is in Osaka and they house the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! As a fan of the movies, this place is soo magical. One advice though, I highly recommend that you pay the extra money to purchase the express tickets. The queues there are insanely long, about an average of 1.5h-2h per ride. Even though the express tickets are almost 2x the normal priced tickets, I think it’s still worth the enjoyment if you’re able to complete most of the rides. Afterall time is money. 😉

The next day we went to Nara to do some deer feeding and temple visits before heading down to the famed Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. We were suppose to go there on the 3rd day but we did not have time then. Headed down to Kobe after that to have kobe beef at Steakland! We also went down to their Chinatown but it was closed by 9pm sadly. If you wanna head there too I suggest going early!

We spent about 4.5days in the Kansai region which consists of Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. We didn’t buy the Kansai pass for all our days there since our airbnb is in the Dotonburi district and generally walkable to all the attractions in Osaka. We bought the 2-day pass which costs about SGD40 for the days that we travelled out of Osaka. My suggestion is to stay about a week in the Kansai region because we were seriously hard pressed for time. Also, Kyoto is seriously the most gorgeous place I’ve ever been too. Definitely need about 3 days just to see Kyoto.

We took the bullet train to Tokyo after that!

Food places mentioned:

STEAKLAND (KOBE BEEF):
Add: Japan, 〒650-0021 Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe, Chuo Ward, Kitanagasadori, 1−8−2, 宮追ビル

SHIAWASE NO PANCAKES:
Add: 1-11-9 Nishihommachi, Nishi-ku | 1F Okamoto Kosan Bldg, Osaka 550-0005, Osaka Prefecture
(this is seriously the BEST pancake I’ve ever had. it tastes like baked fluffy whipped cream and their sauce is divine. however the wait for it is also pretty long. it takes about 1.5h before you get your plate because each plate takes 20mins to cook and they whip up fresh batter for every batch whilst checking the plate’s temperature to make sure that your pancake is cooked to perfection.)

Stay tuned for part 3 where we conquer Tokyo! 😉
