Hi everyone, I’m Jake. Today is February 20th in 2023. Now, I’m in abroad, and today I will go back to Japan. So today I will show you the real experience of entering to Japan. Of course I’m Japanese citizen of Tokyo, so there are few differences between foreigners and the citizens. But maybe almost the same flow of entering process. Let’s check out how long time does it take time to entering to Japan. Let’s go. Now I’m go out from the immigration. Taking time from the landing is about 20 minutes or so. I registered Japan Visit Web before, taking time is very short. The feeling is just go through, kind of pass through. It’s very easy to go through related to quarantine. There are two roots, one is for pre-registered person, the another one is not registered person. If you don’t have a registered Visit Japan Web, it takes more time for checking your current condition or registering time. After I go to the immigration. I’m Japanese citizen, so very easy to enter to Japan. Immigration is also very easy. Here is the baggage claim place, from the landing to reach here; baggage claim place is about 20 min. It’s very easy. Compare to the during COVID, it’s very different situation. It’s become very easy. Finally I go out from arrival gate. The time is now, 5:54pm. I claimed baggage, it tooks a little bit time, but compare to the before, it’s becomes easier to enter Japan. Let’s come here and enjoy the Japanese travel. Thank you for watching. See you next in new video.

  1. thanks for your wonderful video.
Do you have any recommendation for those who will have a 4 hours lay over in Haneda? Where is the best place to go within 4 hours?

  2. This is perfect for my upcoming trip! I was so surprised about the onsen inside the airport.
It's very good to know which floors are for arrival and for departure, too.

  3. hi Jake, thank you for the simple, clear but very informative video. We are arriving at Terminal 3 but have a connecting flight to Yamagata at Terminal 2. Is it better to get our JR Rail Pass at Terminal 3 or Terminal 2? or is there even a JR East Office to do that at Terminal 2?

  4. Thank you for your videos! They've been wonderful guidance for an upcoming trip to Japan! You're making really good and informative content!

  5. Doing the repeat of locations of arrival/exit facing the Info post in the middle and looking all the way to the JR Rail Pass Exchange all the way in on the left (made more visible because of the long line), Monorail entrance before that (with its own vending machines just before that) etc. was very helpful. Telling Kyuko fares are cheap (300 Yen) as well showing its entrance on the right of the arriving traveler (and how to get the card from the vending machine using credit card even) to Shinagawa was helpful.
I was also amazed by the variety of food available downstairs. However, because of food served on international flights, for an arriving passenger from the US food isn't in their mind unless they have kids/missed Japanese food in the US (who are those people standing in the Udon line I wonder).
***Now I know your English is very easy to follow. Consequently, now that the mask-requirement is no longer in effect, do the video one more time if you could without the mask..
***I was also looking to see where the (a) ATMs for getting Yen are located (it could be before immigration); (b) large suitcase (checked-in items) lockers are; and (c) any drop off place where they would keep your large suitcase(s) for a few days but you can pay with cash. This is how information is given say for Zurich on YouTube (learn from them if you have the time to watch those videos).
You may also want to say that the JR Pass Exchange at Haneda is not open in the morning and show a counter in another station (Shinagawa, its hours as well as the short line). How about JR Pass experimenting with a pass which is in your phone that is set to activate the day you arrive? If someone is unsure he can stand in line to activate on a precise date.
The strength of your video is in getting the tourists oriented once they come out and a number of comments below show how people felt the comfort they got about the airport by watching your video.

  6. If I have to take a Taxy or a car with a driver from Ginza station to haneda (2 big bags on bus or monorail I think it will be difficult)..how much do you think it can cost?
