Patalpani waterfall | पातालपानी झरना | indore | Neekharas
The patalpani waterfall is located in Mhoe Tehsil of Indore District in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The patalpani waterfall is approximately 300 ft high. The area around patalpani is popular treking and picnic spot.
The water flow is highest immediately after the rainy season. It goes dry in the summer season, and the stream is reduced to a trickle. According to folklore, the pit (kund) at the bottom of the falls goes as deep at patal. Therefore the falls are called patal-pani, pani being the hindi word for water.
