Only 2 hours away from Tokyo, there is a peninsula called Izu Peninsula. One town in the east of the peninsula called Kawazu, is known for Kawazu cherry blossoms.
Izu has many hot-springs that you can visit all around the year and some beaches for the summer days. You can also make a day trip if you plan well.
I visited Kawazu, Atagawa, and Atami in East Izu peninsula.

Oh wow! Are these recent recordings? The cherry blossom has already begun. I'm not flying to Japan for another three weeks, so I hope I'm not too late for the cherry blossoms by then! I'm starting to get nervous. ๐

I'll be arriving in May so I'll unfortunately miss out on the cherry blossoms. But I was lucky enough to see the autumn colours in Kyoto last November.
