This is how my Japanese wife eats super cheap in a day, less $2 per meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before I showed what My Japanese wife eats typically eats in a day, but this time I wanted share how she is able to do it on a budget for an entire day. This is a day in a Japanese woman’s life in Japan when eating all alone when trying to save money. As a Japanese mother it is sometimes difficult to eat these meals as she has to consider what the rest of the family wants to eat, but when she is by herself, sometimes she can in Japan inexpensively. My Japanese wife, Maiko, born and raised in Japan, and the mother of our 2 and half year old son. First she cooks rice, as it’s one of the best ways in Japan to save, while also satisfying her stomach, as one bowl costs only about 20-30 cents. Luckily, Japanese are so passionate about their rice, including my wife, that many rice cookers can uniquely adapt to 40 different rice brands and can also be programmed for the desired result such as moistness and firmness, which allow her to eat a satisfying dish at a great price.

  1. Not very realistic. Why would you eat cheap when you have all those super expensive kitchen gadgets??? Doesn't make sense. Why would rich people eat like they're poor??? Someone explain that to me please!!

  2. Great video, just to let you know that the meal at the end is labelled ‘breakfast’ at 9:11 instead of ‘dinner’
    Overall great video!

  3. yeah sure, she ate for 5$ the whole day, but she barely had like 25g of protein the whole day lmao… no wonder the food was so cheap. I can eat for 3 $ a day too, if i eat just bread with seasonings.

  4. I understand you want to spend more time with your family, but this type of content, while cheaper to produce and leas time consuming, is a bit of a letdown compared to your other car superior videos of behind the counter and day in the life. Hope you can post more of those. This is already the second video you have posted of what your wife eats. Its not very interesting. Sorry.

  5. Meanwhile…my Korean wife:

Me: What do you want for breakfast?
    Her: Kimchi jigae
Me: What do you want for lunch?
    Her: Kimchi jigae
Me: What do you want for dinner?
    Her: Kimchi jigae

This woman doesnt even eat kimchi too lol.

  6. Hi, Just curious, I notice the walls of your apartment don't have any photos, paintings, etc displayed. Is this a privacy thing on your part or isn't it as common in Japan as other countries to have your walls decorated ?
Please keep the great videos coming, I have a big fan.

  7. All kids from vietnam know the story any grain of rice you leave behind will turn into maggots. So after you die, in order to move on to the new life you have to eat all that maggots 1 by 1. It sound horrible to children but it works, it forms a good habit, as grown up I never ever leave food behind.

  8. Love how maiko smiles, so sweet. And her meals are inspiring. I hope I can wfh and cook simple and delicious meals like her

  9. I’m super excited 😆 broker brokers heartbroken 💔 for nothing to eat on a budget for the past 10 years?!! Not days or months?!!! YEARS!!!!’ Japanese r living in luxurious lifetime on my bank account!!!’ Appreciated !!!!!!!

  10. Bro just say ur wife and not ur Japanese wife, otherwise it sounds like u have more than 1 LMFAO

  11. Hey. You don't have to worry about me not finishing rice. What you have to worry about is me eating all of it 😭❤️

  12. I have eaten nato once. I was surprised by the taste. Hard to explain. No wonder many non-Japanese people don't like it. Even so, I still like it, and will try it another time.

  13. Why does it have to be “How my Japanese wife” and not just “Wife”, weird

  14. Go, Maiko! 😃😃😃😃You are a true food artist! The meals are so incredibly prepared and interesting!

  15. Ain’t no way all those ingredients can be purchased at any Japanese store for that price. I traveled to Japan many times and it’s far from cheap. Just keeping it reality real 😂

  16. I wonder that all food in Japan is wrapped in plastic. In my country we try to produce as little packaging waste as possible.
