  1. Half off a $5K Star Wars cruise?!? Maybe cast members will do it after they make their Mercedes payment, and Chanel handbag purchase.

  2. I completely agree that these discounts are ridiculous for cast members when they've clearly stated they can't afford to even live. If they can't keep food on the table, a roof over their heads or diapers and formula in stock for their babies then their money is going to those things, not a new pair of ears or a loungefly… It's beyond moronic to think these discounts are even relevant in the slightest to the cast members who are struggling.

  3. I’m fairly well off (very fortunate), however, I would NEVER give Disney A DIME due to their cheapness with cast members. Luckily I know several “high up” Disney employees who get me on their “list” for a free Disneyland park ticket once or twice a year, and I bring a sandwich and bottled water for the day!!

  4. I can say this as a major stock holder that giant sucking sound you hear is all the cast members leaving to go and work for universal studios

  5. Wow! I can't afford to pay my bills and put food on the table but I'm so excited to have 50% off on something I can't afford! Disney execs have their heads so deep in the sand! Honestly, how did they come up with this ridiculous offer? I feel like a trip to Disney is all about the Cast Members. They work so hard to make the magic in unbearable heat and humidity and always have a smile on their faces. Without the Cast Members a trip to WDW would just be another amusement park and one that I really can't afford but I keep going because it's so special. Put these management idiots in the parks for one day to replace the Cast Members and you will see them begin to wake up to what their reality is. Give them a tiny bit of money and take theirs away and give it to the cast members. Let them see how much they have to live on. Play a "game" with them where they are given a cast member's salary and make them pay their bills with that money (on paper) and see if they can do it. I bet they can't. Disney is so ridiculous, instead of more money so you can afford to live I'm giving you a discount to spend your money with us. I STAND WITH THE CAST MEMBERS 100%.

  6. Why does someone who makes French fries deserve anything more than minimum wage? It's no different than working at McDonalds. If you don't like your pay, then do like the rest of us and get an education and make yourself more valuable. I have been watching wdwnt for years but I will unsubscribe now because you are an idiot. You're just trying to sell ads by talking smack. What do you do for a living sir? Is this YouTube page your only job? What did you do before this? McDonalds? You started this page to make money. Good for you. But instead of slamming companies over what they pay, why don't you cover happy stories instead of BS stories that make people mad and divide people?

  7. I'm all for paying the cast members more money but why does no one talk about what is actually causing these issues. It's inflation!!! Keep voting these morons in office and this will continue to get worse. Mark my words.

  8. Castmembers: We can't afford to live!
Disney: Here''s a discount on a place to live for a handful of days that is 2-3 times your monthly rent where people who also can't afford to live will serve you.

  9. Way to Go B. Sanders! When Politicians are saying that it time, then it’s time. Who in the company will listen.

  10. The disconnect in reality between the Wall Street crowd that pushes Shareholder profits over employee quality of life is astounding. Does it occur to the Disney Board that a half price ticket is still nearly two months worth of an employee's take home pay?

  11. Spot on, Tom! You are exactly right about this whole cast member pay fiasco. Keep on speaking out about it. It needs to be said.

  12. Thank you for continuing reporting on the cast member wage dispute and showcasing it first in your report and not at the end.

  13. It is absolutely absurd. They NEED a living wage. I have been promoting Disney from my little corner of the world. NOT NOW! Who the heck wants to go on that cruiser when they can't afford to live. What a joke Disney. You have lost my respect. And yes STUPID! You have lost your minds!

  14. There's even disney youtubers saying "well they knew what they signed up for and you accepted the job leave if it doesn't pay enough" 🤔 how special in the head are these people that think this. By that logic disney wouldn't have any employees lol. Pay the people especially when they raise the price on everything.

  15. My friend introduced me to a new word that can describe Disney management in this situation. It’s “tupid.” It is a contraction of “too stupid.”

  16. Y’all acting like this is a Disney problem. 😂 You’re demanding wages that people have worked up the ladder for decades to get. Imagine working for 20 years to make $20/hr only to find ENTRY level jobs are paying that much. Inflation hit everyone. They’re not giving anyone else wage increases in proportion to what they’re doing for entry level positions.

  17. First of all, cast members should receive free entry to the parks naturally as a perk for working there. Maybe a single guest pass as well. They also deserve way more money as they are some of the nicest, cleanest, and well trained employees on earth. Second, the hotel is awful, third, nobody wants to stay there.

  18. 50% is kind of an insult. Maybe 90% off or free. Kind of tough for them to attend when they cant afford to live.

  19. Damn, WDW getting 'upstaged' by lil ol' Universal Orlando. Universal paying their employees (or can we call em cast members over there?!) 17 an hour and yet Iger and the gang remain Cheapek-era cheapskates at 15 an hour for Disney cast members. I thought Disney was the best and brightest. Guess not. Also, can Iger be more obtuse?— Giving 50% discounts for starving cast members to book a stay at the most expensive Disney resort experience ever (Galactic Starcruiser)? Like, it doesn't GET more out of touch than that. This is Disney saying: We pay you sh*t, but come give us (only) 50% of your hard earned money for an overpriced experience. Wow!

  20. With the wages Disney pays CMs, even with a 50% discount, how many of them could afford a night at Galactic anyway??!!

  21. It's funny because if you look up on Google Disney advertises how much they pay their CM it will say from $43 to $50 an hr lmao.. seriously, look it up. The shamelessness of this company baffles me. I looked up how much monorail pilots get paid and it said they get paid $53 the hr… me and my husband looked at each other and laughed/cried. He only gets paid $15. We laughed because of the shameless misinformation from Disney they use to rope in new workers and cried because we are recently struggling to make ends meet. It's really truly sad 😔 we work our butts off just to pay rent! And barely have enough for groceries. When we go to Disney on our days off we have to literally fight the urge to not buy their overpriced merchandise. I pack up sandwiches and snacks just so we won't have to spend our hard earned money there. It's not fair. It REALLY isn't fair…

  22. They won’t wait for negotiations to end. This is targeted and intentional. They wanna take the sales from this and the merchandise discount as “evidence” that cast members have plenty of disposable income and don’t need a raise. It’s disgusting by Disney.

  23. These people can't afford diapers, and Disney is trying to sell them $2,000 experiences (as a means of boosting sales on a failed attraction). It really is cynical and disgusting.

  24. Cast member moral is way down in the parks that make Disney the most profit. The corporate evil empire is literally apart of the Sith

  25. If that $20,000,000 Golden Parachute was divided equally among the 77,000 cast members employed in Orlando, it would equal a one time payment of $259.74. (That comes to $4.99 increase per week)

  26. Think about it…$16.29 per guest per day increase for $21.00 an hour pay- Let’s vote? According to Themed Entertainment Association, Disney World’s average daily attendees (160 thousand)- Walt Disney World Statistics – Magic Guides – There are 77,000 Cast Members throughout the Disney World resort- ZipRecruiter- As of Feb 22, 2023, the average annual pay for a Walt Disney World Cast Member in the United States is $34,891 a year-approximately $16.77 an hour,$670/week or $2,907/month-To increase the pay of all to $21.00 per hour, 616,000 cast hours per day- $4.23 additional per hour of cast work-2,605,680 additional dollars a day- $16.29 per guest per day- For annual pass holders this would be a 12% increase on average on your prices. I would vote yes! We should tell Disney management to help us take care of the Cast.

  27. You know that raise you’re supposed to get… well how about you pay me to be locked in a bunker at a work “for fun” this company is so shitty now
