  1. We are in Florida, near three great ports, we drive to all three main ports, we pack with hangers so between the cubes and the cloth being on hangers, we unpack in 5 minutes

  2. I make a reservation for a later time so I can unpack without rushing. As I get ready, I unpack and it's a good way to get acquainted with the cabin.

  3. Take a jacket! Best CTTV tip we have added into the mix for embarkation… specialty dining!!! Great way to kick off the cruise, and meet the staff to know if we want to return. We also enjoy going to the piano bars on embarkation night. Thanks for all of these helpful tips 💕

  4. Perfect advice to enjoy embarkation day and let yourself just start a relaxing experience. I enjoy exploring the ship the next morning when it's much calmer than embarkation day. Specialty dining on the first night greatly kicks off the vacation experience. A later reservation means you don't have to rush getting the cabin organized or yourself ready. The deck that you often board the ship on often has lounge chairs in certain spots, so it's a great place just to enjoy the views while the ship starts the journey and it's easy to grab a cocktail since you're midship. It's time to go with the flow and relax 🥂

  5. Hi Sheri! I’m traveling with a 29” check in luggage, 21” carry on roller, and a tote bag with my swimsuit, clothes, etc for embarkation day. Should I put a luggage tag on my carry on roller if I plan on keeping my slightly expensive designer purses in there? Or should I wheel it around with me until my room is ready?

  6. This was delivered exactly as you stayed it was to be quick and fun info for a specific topic..well done and thank you for the info

  7. Hubby and I are always in super chill vacation mode. Just enjoying that first day feeling without rushed aggravation.

  8. We went CCL Glory in February, we just had to go to lifeboat station, watch them do life jacket demo. Didn’t have to watch any videos. Is that because the crew member did the demo?

  9. A tip I was given for embarkation is to not even head to the buffet until cabins are announced as ready. Tried it in April and sure enough 15 minutes after they announced staterooms were ready the buffet had emptied out considerably. Instead of fighting a couple thousand other people, there were maybe 1 or 2 hundred. Not empty, but so much easier to deal with.

  10. I wonder 🤔 if on embarkation day if you check out the spa/thermal suite & get a day pass (or purchase a spa pass for the week) if you can stow your carry on bags in the lockers in the changing rooms?? I know I’ve done the spa tour – but if I just decided to purchase the pass – could I use the lockers on day 1 to keep my carry on stuff safe & if I packed my swim suit in the carry on – I could use the therapy pool 🙂! I haven’t tried it – I usually just try to get in to my cabin to drop off my carry on luggage & pick up my mobility scooter waiting for me in my cabin – and then on to the buffet (and maybe now – get the eMuster drill out of the way – know that it’s done well before sailaway)!

  11. Those are definitely great tips for embarkation. Especially keeping the carry on bag light.😍

  12. Totally agree with these tips – all good! Another hanger tip (especially on shorter cruises) is to thread a not-needed bath towel through any hangers you’re not using (or take them out and put them under the bed if there’s space) to stop the rattling!

  13. OMG swaying hangers! We had rough seas on our 1st night of cruise in May- I didn’t have much to hang up and was awakened by banging swaying hangers that night, I finally had to get up and take the hangers down,

  14. I took your recommendation for packing cubes and man does that help a ton packing and unpacking.

  15. I love the tip about not doing it all the first day and doing what’s best for you, hard to remember that during the excitement of embarkation, but fantastic advice!

  16. On the first day, I sit on the balcony and watch whatever is happening. If it's shore side, the embarkation drama is entertaining.

  17. Love these tips! Oh yeah, #2: make sure they scan each boarding pass individually at your muster station. They just scanned one member for our group and forgot to click everyone else on their screen.

Well, by 4pm, we keep hearing the announcements and I keep thinking "gosh, who in the world has not done the muster drill yet??"

Guess who??? Yup. We were holding up the whole darn ship, even though we went straight to our muster stations! Geez Louise! 😉

  18. I cant tell you how helpful all your videos have been to me over the years. And how well spoken and thought out your kind remarks always are. Thanks again for another great video!

  19. "And we'll see you on the high seas". I would hope so, it'd be nice. BTW, What/where are the low seas?

  20. Yes! The hangers were driving me crazy on the last night of my cruise recently because they were rattling around so much!!

  21. Even easier mustard drill on MSC and Princess: you watch the video in your cabin and then check in at your assigned meet up point! Need a hack for hangers on the last night when your packed suitcase is outside your cabin…

  22. In regards to unpacking and using the hangers, I bring my own hangers with the clothes that need them in my garment bag. But I have gotten into the practice to shoving all the hangers together and to one side of the closet. That prevents the clacking from the movement of the ship too.

  23. So here's a couple thoughts on the banging hangers… Zip ties are light and easy to pack so there's an idea. There is also a rubber band. At the very least, if you're a woman, there's a hair tie! And I almost forgot, I always have a set of earplugs with me!

  24. Put on nice clothes? On day 1? I’m on vacation. It’s shorts and tshirt only. Actually that’s my preference to how I dress for the whole cruise.
