Shinkansen fever has hit Hakodate, Japan.

On March 26 2016 the SHINKANSEN (Bullet-train) commenced service from Aomori (in Honshu) to Hakodate (in Hokkaido) Japan.

Subsequently Hakodate has Shinkansen fever. Every street, market, bar and restaurant have posters that advertise the new Shinkansen service.

There are many souvenirs, mementos and memorabilia available to celebrate the new service.

A range of snacks, toys, key-rings, fridge magnets, stationery and many other items are available.

This short video shows the range of Shinkansen merchandise for sale at the Goryokaku Tower souvenir shop.
