An Okinawan born and raised in Okinawa introduces various beaches in Okinawa with underwater videos.
The beach we will introduce to you is Sakimotobu Gorilla Chop, a popular area for local divers in Motobu Town. It is nicknamed “Sakihonbu Gorilla Chop” because of the 7 to 8 meter high rocky hill in the middle of the beach, which looks like a gorilla doing a karate chop.
It was a beautiful sunny day and we swam at low tide. The tides at Sakimotobu Gorilla Chop are gentle, so even a 65-year-old grandpa, an 8-year-old granddaughter, and a 4-year-old grandson could swim safely and happily with life jackets on as long as the current is calm and low tide.
There are many different kinds of corals underwater, and you can swim with a variety of tropical fish, such as the roxie snapper and clownfish.
If you want to swim in the natural sea of Okinawa on a sightseeing trip, Sakimotobu Gorilla Chop is recommended. Even with small children, it is safe. Please take a look at this page for reference.
This is a short version edited short this time. We will publish the long version later.
